  • Perfect camera bag for my needs
I am definitely not a big time camera person. I have a new Canon T4i which I bought to replace my iPhone camera and two lens (18-135mm and a 40mm pancake). When I went looking for a bag I wanted something that would hold my camera and the two lens when I went through airport security and later I could use to hold just my camera and the one large lens when I went out sight-seeing. Now I could go sight seeing with just the camera while wearing a strap, but I wanted a small bag to provide protection when I got into more dicey situations, like riding public transit. This bag is just what I wanted. Here are my thoughts on this bag: - See the picture? There is a tiny label on the top of the bag. It reads Vivitar. Is that good or bad? IMO, who cares? - The main opening has two zippers which can go either direction (like a regular suitcase zipper). - The strap is 7/8ths of an inch across and thin (not super comfortable, but pretty sturdy). It is long enough to be worn diagonally over the chest for most men and is adjustable. It is held in place with two easily removable large plastic clips. Check out the pictures. You've seen these kind of straps before. - It is well padded and has a quality feel to it. - The bag fits the camera with the large lens attached, like a glove. The photo that shows the camera in the bag must be showing just the camera body with no lens attached. There is almost no headroom with camera and lens inserted (maybe an inch and a half or a wee bit more if you stretch the cover like you would with an overstuffed suitcase). - The camera comes with a tiny mini tripod and velcro divider. Nice, but I am leaving these at home. No room in the bag. - Did you buy one of those expensive black rapid straps? If you did, forget this bag. Like I said, it fits the camera like a glove. There is room for a regular camera strap, but those shoulder ones with all the padding and doodads... no. - The bag has a little handle which may or may not be useful. I really like that I can strap the bag to my belt. First, knowing me, I may just lay this small bag down and walk away. Second, it provides a wee bit of protection from the snatch and run thieves. - I don't have one of those battery pack accessories which attach to the bottom of the camera, but checking the bag out, they may fit. Don't hold me to this, but it looks like it would be a super snug fit. - After buying the bag, I received emails from the vendor asking for my opinion on their service and later asking me to post on Amazon my opinion of their product. To me, this shows me that these people are really proud of what they do and what they sell. So, if you are a minimalist when it comes to your needs for a camera bag and you are willing to part with an amount equivalent to a lunch at a nice restaurant, then I definitely recommend this bag. If you want to carry more stuff, then get something bigger. ... show more

  • Perfect Compact Case
Well made. Fits my Canon EOS Rebel with a larger lens perfectly. This will be much better for travel than my large Canon case.

  • Good single lens camera bag that could be a smidge bigger
This camera bag was good for my Nikon D3300 with the 18-55mm attached. I tried to fit it with my Nikkor 70-300mm attached and the bag is just too small. Would be nice to fit a larger lens since it's definitely a single lens bag, but if you only have the kit lens then this is good. Sides were snug but not tight around my D3300 with the lens facing down, and the strap and lens caps fit in there with it. Pocket on the inside was not zipper, but my extra SD card and adapter never fell out. Side pockets are shockingly stretchy and very nice. It comes with a plastic poncho for the bag that lets you still use the straps, and everything was high quality materiel, so it gets 4 stars. But honestly I think it's just slightly too small, even as a single lens bag. If I'm going to only have one lens with me, it's not going to be the kit lens. ... show more

  • Great bag for backpacking
I got this bag in order to take my SLR camera backpacking. It works real nice. First, it's pretty light. Second, it's sturdy - seems to be well made. And it fits my camera with the standard lens, two batteries, and the battery charger. I use the belt loop on it to loop the chest strap on my backpack thru it. I also bought 2 carabiners to hook the two belt/shoulder strap rings on the camera bag to the shoulder straps on my backpack. So, it sits right in the middle of my chest when I'm hiking. If I want to take a picture, I just unzip the top and pull the camera out right there on the spot. Easy access without taking off any gear. Plus it comes with a rain bag to keep it dry. Total weight with the bag plus the camera and accessories is 2.6 lbs. Perfect for backpacking. And a great price. ... show more

  • Camera case destined to travel
I looked at various camera cases / holsters here on Amazon and elsewhere in order to come up with a suitable choice. Some were either too small, too large, or too conspicuous. I settled on USA Gear for several reasons: price, interior size, appearance, and durability. I wanted to carry a conventional 35mm slr with 35-70mm zoom lens as a minimum kit. This case will accommodate it. I wanted to see if I could fit a 50mm lens too. I think the case will handle it using the divider to protect the lens. The rain cover will come in handy too. What I am concerned about is the interior lining. It looks thin. The Neoprene exterior looks ok but I will need to watch for cuts. I liked the idea that the shoulder strap had metal fitting and not plastic. Pricewise, it is fine. I may update this review after our next trip. ... show more

  • Disappointed as Belt Loop Doesn't Last Long
This case was exactly what I was looking for while walking all over Disneyworld. It worked great and made the camera very comfortable to carry while wearing it on my belt (no neck strain like a strap). However, while the case made it through Disney, the loop that goes over your belt barely did as it is now hanging by a couple of threads after only 1 week of heavy use. I was hoping for much more from this case and would buy it again in a heartbeat, if I thought it would last. Unfortunately I bought this long before our trip so the warranty has expired and I'm left with a 1 trip/week case. ... show more
