Top Amazon Reviews

  • EXCELLENT hand strap for my DSLR! Great price, super quality.
Color: Red Stitch
I don't write a lot of reviews of stuff I buy on Amazon. I got places to go, things to do! But I really wanted other people to know how great this strap is! I had about five different similar straps in my cart: the Lynca, the Herringbone, the IMZ, the Megagear, and maybe another couple, all of the same basic design. I finally chose this particular one by JJC because of the Arca Swiss compatible release plate, and also for the second cross-strap. I had a hand strap that came with my recent Canon 80D purchase from Amazon, but it was pretty cheap, had a flimsy plastic plate to attach it to the bottom of my camera, and I could never get it tight enough to work with the release plate on my tripod. So I bought this JJC strap, figuring that if the built-in release plate worked with my tripod, I could work a lot faster, going from taking pictures freehand to tripod pictures without having to unattach and reattach pieces. Well, the JJC strap arrived today and BOY, am I happy! The packaging looked a little generic and I was on my guard, but inside was a fabulous product. First off before I forget, it comes with great instructions, in English/German/Japanese, with great photographs to show you how to attach the strap to your camera and adjust it to fit your hand, and how to attach it to the tripod. (Not that the same instruction sheet also has instructions for the other JJC strap, the one with blue stitching instead of red, that has a u-plate instead of the Arca Swiss plate. Apparently the u-plate lets your camera sit flat on a surface, while this one has the Arca Swiss plate that lets you attach it to compatible tripods.) I easily attached the strap to my camera, and adjusted the two straps that go around my hand so they fit perfectly. The strap feels secure, and seems to be made of high quality materials that look like they'll stand up to heavy use. There's some nice comfortable padding on the wider strap that goes around the back of your hand. I'm particularly impressed by the part that attaches to the bottom of the camera: it is SOLID, THICK METAL. Very nice; worlds better than the strap that originally came with my camera. The screw that goes into the camera itself is set in a slot that allows you a little over a half inch of play, so you can set the front-back position of the plate on your camera right where you want it. There's a flip-up handle on the screw that lets you quickly begin screwing it into place, and the slot is the perfect width for that trusted tool, the penny, to fully tighten it down. There's rubber between the plate and your camera to both protect and add friction so it won't slide around—I remember that some of the other straps I looked at just seemed to have metal-on-metal, while one had cork (which was also cool). What I didn't know when I bought this strap, was that there's also a standard threaded hole in the metal plate, so if you wanted to attach your camera to a tripod or something OTHER than your Arca Swiss compatible tripod, you have that option. I was really pleased about this, because sometimes I want to attach my camera to my Gorilla Pod instead of my full tripod, and I can now do that without removing this strap—BONUS! There's also a hinged tab on the end of the plate, which has a hole through it. I must admit my ignorance when I first saw this, but upon investigation when I was shopping through all of these straps, I learned that this is for attaching your camera to one of those quick release neck straps that I've seen pro sports photographers use, where you clip your camera on a strap that lets you hang your camera by your side while you use another camera. Well that's cool; I'm going to have to try that out! I do a little leathercrafting on the side, so I'll look into making one of those for myself. The use of the tab is covered in the instruction sheet, also. Oh, and I tested the Arca Swiss release plate in my old tripod, and it works great! Man, am I happy with this strap. This makes my camera so much easier to use, and it feels safe and secure in my hand with the strap attached, with or without the cross strap. (The cross strap makes it feel super-secure though, which is great.) Thanks guys! Made my day. ... show more

  • works pretty well on EOS R6
Color: Red Stitch
Good fit and usability with this hand strap on my Canon EOS R6. It takes some fiddling to get strap lengths matched to your hand, but that's a one-time effort. Camera usability is good with the safety strap (the thin piece) snapped into place. Stability is good, no fear with the camera dangling. The safety strap is supposed to prevent a flinging motion and make the whole thing more secure in general. Its snap isn't the strongest in the world, but as a secondary safety mechanism it works well. It's not hard to unsnap, but stays snapped pretty well in normal use. This works on my small tripod without removing the strap, but the quick release doesn't match this tripod. Also if the strap is too tight, it's hard to work the front horizontal dial on the camera. You want to keep some slack in the hand part of the strap. I haven't taken this out for an all-day shoot yet, I'll update if it doesn't hold up as expected. Generally I'd do all my setup before snapping into the strap (rather than taking it on/off repeatedly). But it's not any more cumbersome than a neck strap, much less bulky, and more secure from drops. Thus for now it is Recommended. ... show more

  • Love it!
Color: Red Stitch
It's so much better than having a long neck-strap. The only issue I have with it is the bottom-plate is a little small so the camera doesn't quite rest on its bottom any more, you have to lay it on its back. Would easily be fixed with a wider plate that covers the whole bottom instead of just a small square, if they every choose to make that change. But even so it's a very good wrist-strap. ... show more

  • Allows quick access in a secure configuration.
Color: Red Stitch
I'm always afraid of dropping my camera. normal strap that goes around the neck is fine, but after a while the weight of a camera around neck is prohibitive. So I finally got a shoulder strap which is great, from Amazon as well. however, sometimes a beautiful scene or action moment shows up quickly and you lose it trying to reach down and slide the camera up to proper position. So I thought a wrist strap with me a better choice. Especially since it is supposed to be able to match the arca Swiss type plate on my tripod. With this hand strap and the security loop it has with the tripod connector. I can attach this to my shoulder strap when I am just walking around and yet at the same time have it with the wrist strap and switch quick from non-active to active status. the only reason I haven't given it five stars is cuz I've yet to actually attach it to my tripod to make sure the switch is compatible. ... show more

  • As described
Color: Red Stitch
This item was exactly as described. I had ordered another wrist strap prior to this one and it did not fit well nor did it have the extra security strap that makes it fit more comfortably. Still getting used to it but I am overall happy with the purchase.

  • So comfortable
Color: Red Stitch
It took me a long time to make the choice but I’m glad I did. I have this attached to my Nikon D5500 SLR and it makes it much more comfortable to use. Once I had spent the the time to get the strap adjusted correctly, the camera felt like an extension to my arm. Even to the point of one handed operation. It kept the camera much more stable with one hand than I have been able to get it with two hands. I thoroughly recommend it. ... show more
