  • Helpful Device for Home Use
UPDATE January13, 2022 Amazon sent me a push notofication about my reviews which lead me to re-read this one. I had continued treating the areas mentioned with this device and as I read my review today I realized I have been doing well enough that I completely forgot I'd even had the injuries mentioned in my October review. This, despite not using the device since at least since Thanksgiving. I'd say the device did an excellent job when used regularly. I overused my hands in the last few weeks, which has caused a great deal of swelling, muscle knots, and an arthritic feeling pain. I will, again, be relying on this device to promote the kind of healing that makes me forget this pain ever existed. I really can't recommend it enough. Original Review: When I first considered purchasing this item I saw all of the bad reviews about how the device doesn't get warm, and like some of the responses to those views, I too thought that everyone misunderstood these devices and how they work. However, once I recieved my unit and reviewed the booklet (that I imagine most toss without opening) it indeed mentions that it comes with a warming feature for increased comfort. The way this works, and I believe is why it seems to not function for many, is that it requires patience. Turn on the device and then do not touch it. You'll see the indicator lights cycling through each setting for many minutes. Once the lights stop blinking it is then warm and time to choose the time and setting for which you desire for treatment. It will not stay warm throughout the treatment but is great for avoiding that initial shock of cold that metal can give. Now that that's out of the way, onto my review. Due to a soft tissue genetic issue called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, wherein my body doesn't have enough collagen to enable my soft tissues to 'bounce' back and provide strength to hold my skeleton in place I have had over 20 surgeries to repair ruptured tendons and ligaments, torn muscles, torn organs, and problems from dislocations. This also means I have had physical therapy on almost every body part over the last 20 years or so. I am no stranger to the ultrasound devices used in a physio clinic. This device is not equal to those units. That's not to say it isn't a great tool for at home pain and injury management, but it's definitely not an equal to the professional machine that costs at least ten times more. As long as you understand that and its limitations I believe you'll be thrilled with having it. Because it's not equal to the professional versions it is safe to use once daily per area. It is still important to keep the device in constant movement, and to never let it sit still on your body. This will burn your tissue. This is one of the reasons it's recommended to test its operation with a drop of water rather than your fingers, as it would burn them. The way these work is that they send waves about 3 cm deep (professional ones can go deeper) to both deeply heat the tissue and invoke a gentle injury to the area in order for your body to respond by sending extra healing blood to that area, while simultaneously opening up and pumping out lactic acid and lymphatic fluids that have built up and become dangerous inflammation. For this reason, it's very important to drink a lot of water while using the device so as to help your blody flush this gunk out. It's not too different from the benefits of a hot stone massage in that they operate differently but provide a similar benefit to the body. The device will turn off if there's not enough conductor gel and it starts to drag on the skin, so be generous. It's great that the device comes with a small tube (enough for about 10 uses, depending on the size of the area) and it's very affordable to replace. A muscle cream is included but I have not tried it. I currently have a torn hamstring at my sit bone, and inflamed abductors at my hip in addition to a strain in my wrist. This machine has helped all of these areas calm down considerably since being treated with PRP and manual physical therapy. Initially, as usual,it feels like you aren't really doing anything and that the device may not even be on. Then after time is up it feels a bit like the area has been worked out and it's a bit fatigued. Many hours later, sometimes the next day, I'll then notice that the areas I've treated feel remarkably better. The torn hamstring at the sit bone has a long ways to go, which is difficult as it requires rest and we all have to bend and sit throughout the day. I do feel more pain and swelling when I've gone a few days without treating it. It definitely provides relief on those days where I've over stressed it, preventing it from becoming a bigger problem. My wrist was a 10 year old injury that re-surfaced with an ill-timed movement. It was taking months to recover with very slow progress... until this device arrived. After two sessions I finally felt like I had use of my hand with minimal discomfort. After four sessions it's back to how it was before I re-injured it. I think understanding the machines limitations will greatly manage your expectations and see this for what it is: An excellent tool to add to your home arsenal of physio care and a great way to maintain in-between physical therapy appointments or work outs. Do not use over areas with metal or implants such as pacemakers, it can losen them or interfere with their operation. I definitely recommend and wish I'd known about this sooner. It was worth every penny and then some. I love that it comes in a compact case that makes it easy for travel and storage. ... show more

  • Used It For ED, enlarged prostate and sore lower back.
I am 58 years old and was quoted $3,000 for a medical doctor to treat my ED using ultra sound. I used this devise on high setting for one month daily for 15 min to treat ED reapplying gel every 5 minutes and there has been improvement. In my research, I read you will want to rest for a month after treating for a month. (I may repeat in a month) I also read ultra sound has been used for some prostrate cancers so I thought why not give it a try for my enlarged prostrate. I used it for my enlarged prostate for 3 weeks 15 minutes daily and I can now go through the night without visiting the bathroom. I also used it on my lower back with some relief and my wife’s sore shines (I disinfected after each use) You will need to purchase more gel than the small bottle that comes with it. I bought a one liter bottle for $16. ... show more

  • Works well when used as intended - an ultrasound device and not a heating device
I have for many years used a similar ultrasound device, which helped considerably in reducing the pain in the joint. I hadn’t felt the need to use it for several years as the pain was not acute, and found I misplaced it and couldn't find it. Because the misplaced ultrasound device was so effective, and after suffering the trauma described below, I ordered the US Pro 2000. After two treatments the pain is significantly reduced in my knee and flexibility increased. I will continue regular treatment sessions with it and a heat pad as needed and physical therapy. Because I’ve found the ultrasound device so effective, I was puzzled by the numerous one-star reviews. A review by k4tgp (Dr. Reyes) April 24, 2021 seemingly solved the puzzle. I agree with Dr. Reyes that many reviewers assumed this is a heating device. The instructions may contribute to this misunderstanding. The instructions state, “1. Turning on the device and head warming feature.” They also state, “If the warming feature is not needed, press any button to skip the warming mode.” Because this is not a heating device, the head does not stay warm for the length of treatment. I assume the warming feature is available to make the application of the head more comfortable when first applied than a cold piece of metal. I have found this ultrasound device very effective and highly recommend it for its intended purpose. Now some background on my knee injury to place my review of this device in context. I severely injured my knee in 1965 tearing the anterior cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament, and medial meniscus. I had reconstructive surgery in 1979. The extensive injuries to the joint resulted in osteoarthritis. The surgery was very successful and my knee has not “gone out” in the 42 years following the surgery. However, I experience a constant dull pain, which the ultrasound and other treatment has not totally eliminated, and I have learned to live with the pain. I’m very careful in any activity so as not to unduly stress the knee. Recently, I experienced side effects of an infusion to build bone density in my hip that caused a sharp pain in the joint and severe swelling. Several days ago, I missed a step and landed heavily on my “bum” knee, which increased the pain. Thus, I promptly ordered this device to reinitiate the ultrasound treatments. Given the extent of my injuries this device, nor any, will eliminate pain, but it definitely mitigates it. ... show more
