The first impression opening the box was 'wow... that is a somewhat nice storage case (wood). For some reason, I didnt remember that on the product description but sure enough it is in the photos. The handles are a medium length... not too long... not too short. I use medium more than long and short, so this is a good size for me. The turn quality on the handles is good except for the lines/grooves. A few of the handles had minor tear-outs... very minor and nothing that impacts my use. Its more of a visual thing and something I expect for tools at this entry level. The tools are definitely sharp. Some of them came sharp enough to shave hair on my arm. They are not razor sharp, but with a fine stone, it would not take but a few minutes to get them there. They seem to hold an edge on the limited use I have had with them so far. I have a slow speed wetstone to hone them and keep them sharp with minimal effort so for me the edge seems to work pretty well. The metal is hard enough that I dont have to sharpen them all the time and soft enough that sharpening them is pretty simple. ... show more
