  • Great casual-listening alternative to the Airpod Max!
Color: Midnight Black
To preface my review: I'm a casual listener, I bought these for music and podcasts at work/work from home, so my review is going to lack anything technical that someone in the music or sound engineering industries would likely be looking for. These are the only wireless noise-cancelling headphones I own, the only comparison I can make are with the original apple airpods. With that said I feel absolutely terrific for spending $150 on these headphones as opposed to $550 for some airpod max headphones. Sound quality is great, songs of every genre are clean and details really pop. Ive already noticed sounds in some of my favorite songs that I've never even noticed before. The Active Noise Canceling (ANC) is very impressive, they also include ambient sound mode to soften the noise-cancel effect which is perfect for office use. There's also a on-ear detection system that stops the audio/video when one or both of the headphones are moved off your ear. I got the black color and it looks great but it does show fingerprints rather easily. First days of wearing it feels a little tight but easy to adjust, not uncomfortable over the ears. Haven't had any problems with my ears getting too warm. Fits well while moving but would still be cautious if you're running, good for the gym if you're weight lifting. Buttons on both headphones for noise-cancelling modes and audio control. Buttons for volume and play/pause are tough to differentiate by just feeling while wearing. 50-hour battery life, there's a audible low battery warning, should be full charge overnight. Charger is very short though. Comes with a carrying case for travel Comes with headphone/microphone cord and jack. Tried with my xbox controller, party chat works as well as in-game audio. This all works with ANC as well! As a casual listener I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It's probably not as high-quality as the $300-$600 headphones by Sony, Bose, and Apple but for what you get it's a way better value at $150. ... show more

  • Very comfy and great sound, but using wired doesn't have enough volume...
Color: Ruby Red
The headphones are very comfortable and look great. The build quality is very nice as well. 4 or 5 stars for that... However, when wired to my computer there is no voice indication of what mode you are in. You have to just guess. Also, there seem to be two default modes when wired. If you just plug them in they are really loud and bassy and somewhat muffled. It sounds horrible. But as soon as you turn on ANC, or Ambient, or the other Default with the function button they lose about half of their volume. The EQ also changes. They become less bassy, which was nice. This was ok on my computer, but when using the wire on my phone I had to turn it all the way up and it was still not loud enough. So if you are getting these to use wired, then I would strongly discourage it. Bluetooth, on the other hand, was easy to set up and seemed to work fine. These things sounded great on my phone. Volume was good, sound was EQed nice. It was a very pleasant experience. Volume adjustment though through my phone was a bit stepped and not smooth. Also, there is a voice indicator of what mode you are in when you are using Bluetooth. That would have been nice when using the wire. There was one issue that I'm not sure was me or if the headphones are defective or not, but several times they just stopped working using the cable. No audio was coming through at all. I never exactly figured out why. I pushed the Control button in for a few seconds and that seemed to fix it, but not sure why they turned off to begin with. The battery was mostly full, so wasn't that. Wasn't the auto pause feature either, cause they were just sitting on my head. The ANC is acceptable, I think. Voices sounded canned, but it did get rid of low frequency noises, similar to my Sony 710ns. Although I think the ANC on the Sonys was better. The Ambient was ok as well, nothing special. I might would keep these if it wasn't for the poor volume when using it wired. If you are just wanting to use them for Bluetooth, then I can recommend them, but if you ever think you will need to use wired, then don't get these... Update: I returned these and got a full refund from Amazon. However, I contacted Urbanista and asked them if the lower volume issue when using wired was normal and they said it wasn't. They also said that using a different charging cable could fix something like this. I thought that was an odd solution to suggest, but maybe they are right. I've since grabbed the JBL CLub 950nc headphones and am much happier, so far... ... show more

  • Faux AirPods Max that sound similar to Sony's XB950 series
Color: Midnight Black
If you were a fan of the Sony Extra Bass series, specifically the XB950 headphones then the Urbanista Miami is the perfect upgrade. I went through 2 pairs of the Sony XB950 headphones, however, Sony’s build quality is not the best. I dropped both on a carpeted floor from a short 3-foot distance and both broke in a short period of time so I was in the market for a brand new bluetooth headphone from a different brand. I appreciate that Urbanista Miami’s approach was focused on the build quality. These faux-Apple AirPods Max are a great alternative for people wanting a stylish, minimalist build with Bluetooth 5.0 and Active Noise Cancellation. Unless you are on an airplane or subway, I would normally use these headphones without ANC because you will get better sound quality from the mids and highs when the ANC is turned off. I really hope there is a companion app coming because it could easily fix these issues. All in all, if you want the best bang for your buck and are a headphone connoisseur, I would recommend these. PROS: - Sturdy and premium minimalist build - Bluetooth 5.0 - Slim case with a slot for the AUX cable (smart) - Extra bass sound - Inexpensive CONS: - ANC muffles and compresses overall sound quality - Muddy mids and highs when ANC is turned on - No designated smartphone app to control EQ ... show more
