I've been looking for good solutions to try to replace all the plastic containers to reduce chemicals in our house. It is really hard to find anything that has a dishwasher safe lid. These are the best I've found. They seem to have a good seal so far and the lids are easy to wash in the dishwasher. The smallest, 20 oz container, would be perfect for replacing all my smaller storage containers. I hope this company will come out with more of those in a set so I can buy sets of 4 or 10 to own as my standard left-over container for use from refrigerator to microwave. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I was searched the web for an all glass container. These hit the mark! The vent is critical because it helps break the seal and allows you to microwave the contents. Very leak resistant, beautiful design. I replaced these with my glass and plastic lid containers. I debated between these and another brand that has a glass lid and enamel base (beautiful item, brand starts with a C, but expensive!) what won me over was honesty the vent and that I could microwave it with ease and i read the other brand was hard to get the lid off. Highly recommend this set. I ended up buying the round set and the smaller square set. If you have large leftovers or have regular potlucks I would recommend the larger square set. With more and more info coming to light about the hazards of plastic food storage--and especially microwaving plastic cookware--it's time to upgrade outdated and potentially hazardous food containers. These glass and silicone containers make spectacular and attractive alternatives. These are heavy glass bowls that feel substantial in your hands. Borosilicate glass is known for its durability, temp tolerance, and overall strength. It's obvious that considerable thought was expended to maximize the functionality of these bowls. The lids are made with the same glass surrounded by safe silicone (NOT plastic) seals. The mostly glass construction of the lids means you can easily see what's inside by looking through the tops. Extremely useful open/close vents are included for better microwaving functionality. Although extended microwave cooking can make the bowls quite warm to the touch, warming food is unlikely to make them hot enough to require pot holders. With the lids off, the bowls are oven-safe even over 400 F. The lids seat very firmly and certainly seem airtight with the vents closed. Handwashing is a snap, and both bowls and lids are rated dishwasher safe (top shelf only for the lids). When not in use, the smaller bowls (AND their lids) nest comfortably inside the largest. How's that for design efficiency? It's rare to find a product with no negatives, but these bowls qualify. Buy them with confidence. They are incredibly functional and likely to last many years with proper handling. ... show more

I’m delighted to have found a product made in the USA! Very rare. I like that these glass containers are square or rectangle [with slightly rounded edges]. I like that the lids are also made of glass with exception of the silicone edging and vent —too often the lids are made of a plastic component. I’m a little conflicted about the dishwashing however; in the product description on Amazon the containers and the lids are pictured on the bottom shelf of a dishwasher but in the instructions provided in the package these came in it says to only use the top shelf for the lids to be cleaned with a dishwasher. I appreciate consistency but I’m going to go with my gut ln how to clean these lids. ... show more
