This is a novel idea, and works but only to an extent. Essentially the "paw print" opening is designed to provide access to the dog to drink. The opening is ok, but really should be larger so that the dog has better access to the water while still not getting wet or sloppy. The video and other material in the reviews is not clear on how the water level rises. Yes, your little FIDO can press down on the floating device (as is depicted in the video), but it is not realistic to think that your dog will do that. Maybe the way it is shown in the video is a joke? This has definitely helped with regulating the water so that my dog does not get wet, or over drink to the point where he belches or vomits. It also helps that he does not drink so much at one time that he has to take a pee 30 mins later. Small and steady sips of water seem to be a great way to keeping him hydrated while not overdoing it. It's a nice design, well executed and now that I have it I will keep it, not sure I would go running to replace the matching food bowl for such little payoff and benefit. (PS I tried to upload a picture but for whatever reason AMAZON is not allowing it. There is nothing in the picture that gives you any additional information that I did not share above.)

Great concept. Didn’t spill much. But my dog was able to destroy it in 2 days…. The top ring comes off easily allowing it to be chewed up. Once that ring is off it’s also no longer spill proof. Really wish it had worked but the top part needs better designed. Something more sturdy. EDIT TO ADD: After my review I was contacted by the supplier who was more than accommodating to help fix the situation. I really appreciated that. 5 stars for customer service!!

My little guy would get a drink from a regular water bowl by resting his chin in the water and lapping up the water, after drinking he would walk off creating a dripping mess all around the kitchen that I didn’t know about until walking in and slipping in a deluge on water on the floor. This stops that problem, he still leaves a few drops on the floor when he finishes but no more waterfall from his chin.

We have two senior aged dogs one 5 lbs and one 100 lbs. They can both drink out of this bowl very easily, it stops my golden retriever from getting too much water, soaking his face which keeps my floors dry from the dripping face, and even better, it slows his drinking down so he’s not choking and getting sick after ingesting too much water at once. I almost love this bowl. It really works, almost. Although it has cut the drool down about 75%. So it’s pretty much worth the money for drier socks.

Simple to put together. Am hoping to slow my water-gulping dog down a bit. It is lightweight plastic. There is a slim plastic ring that holds the float plate in place. It’s very flimsy and a bit concerned that it will not last long with regular removal to clean. Would love to see this made in an overall heavier material. Maybe a metal or ceramic base with a plastic float and metal ring for added durability.

If you are like me and have a dog (in my case a Frenchie) that gulps water and proceeds to throw up the contents of his stomach you should buy this bowl. This has completely solved the problem. I wish I would have know these existed earlier.

My dog likes to drip water down your leg cause he don’t know how to drink from a bowl so I got him this & it works pretty amazing ! Only 1-3 dribbles will get on the floor unlike 5-10 lol but you do gotta make sure you take the “anchor” white part inside apart cause water leaks into it and Yk that’ll get slimy lol
