This frame is a very light weight frame. The frame is a plastic and there is no glass, just a scratch resistant thicker plastic. The plastic comes with protective coatings on both sides of it that you can peel off when you are ready to hang it. I liked this as I tend to be accident prone and I was not able to scratch it. Title says it all. It's sturdy and the acrylic (I think) glass is nice. Only issue was a scuff mark left behind by, I assume, the shipping process. Fortunately, it doesn't matter for my purposes.

My picture was 11-1/4x17 and so I took out the mat and it fits perfect. It feels pretty heavy duty. I like the backing that has the swivel feature to lock into the picture frame. Has 2 orientations for hanging.
