I got these to put on trashcans and fridges throughout my home because my dog likes to open both. These are just what I needed! The adhesive used is very strong. The strap is easy to adjust in length, and detaching the lock is super simple. Just a great all around design! Highly recommended!

I would have given this five stars as it met all my expectations EXCEPT FOR NOISE. When it runs, the sound is very annoying. For days I waited to learn to accept the noise, but I didn't. I would have returned it but couldn't because it is too heavy and I am an 82 year old handicapped woman. As a last resort I put it in the garage. That way I don’t hear it and when it breaks, and it will, the only thing I will have lost is money and my belief in your company. ... show more

My 3 year old figured this out in days. I only took one star, because they are good locks and can still be used for other purposes. I just don't agree that they can be used for child safety or prevention purposes. 3 days, is all it took. First she figured out how to squeeze the triggers on the sides, and I figured it wouldn't be much longer until she ultimately.. and she did.. figured out how to push back the locking feature. This may just be my toddler. She's very intuitive and attentive. I should have known better.... and the search continues... Original Review These are... perfect to prevent my 3 year old from getting in the fridge, and yet still allowing all of us, including my 10 year old, easy access. I was at my wits end. My last child just had to be the one... the one that gets into anything, and is very capable... of opening up every container! I had lost over a gallon of milk to her in two days and that's when I decided. You see I didn't want one of those bulky locks that you need to press all these buttons or use a key to get into. That's just inconvenient. This is very simple. Push back a button, squeeze and it pops right off. They are adjustable and I think they can be used just about anywhere. So yes it works, and is a great freezer but I had to do some work on it to get the door to close properly. A part of it was dented on the door and it took a lot of force to open and close it (box was intact so dent must have happened before shipping) and with a little messing with it I finally got it where I can open and close it better. No more toddler break ins! All you do is adjust and stick on your fridge and it’s easy as that. We even tested it. I was not able to remove once it was place on and I actually tried! Toddlers could not get in either!

I needed one of these for my freezer door on the extra refrigerator in the basement. It would pop open sometimes and since it is downstairs I didn’t know it right away. I had a child lock on it previously and it worked beautifully, but then it lost it's grip and I had to take it off. I couldn’t find a replacement so I devised something with 2 magnets but it didn’t work as well. When I saw this I thought that this was the answer, however I was disappointed. I could tell it wasn’t as nice as the previous one. The plastic parts that hold it, especially the one on the non latching piece are cheap. The latching part comes off and on easily, the other part is very difficult to adjust. I tried on both of them, both are equally difficult. It is hard to get a good fit. It does adhere very well, so well that I don’t think I will put the other strap on anything unless I absolutely need to. I will l leave the one on and hope that it keeps the door closed. ... show more
