Install was pretty easy. I do think i had to look up a video on how to swap the extruder gears. But once I watched that, it was easy. Made sure i lubed the gears and reinstalled everything. Did some testing and noted that i only heard the clicking another reviewer noted when doing the filament calibration test prints. Quick back and forth diagonal lines seemed to make that. I have not heard it present any other time. So far this has worked out good. I did not have the bambu hardened extruder to compare, but it definitely seems more durable than the stock plastic gears. Been running for a couple of months now with no issues. Comtree isnt a bad 3rd party brand for 3d printer parts. Ive used other parts of their before on my old Ender 3 Pro. Unfortunately I was too focused on getting the gears installed that i did not get photos during the install, but you can see the larger gear installed from my photos.

Great upgrade for Bambu system. The all metal gearing is much more resilient than the plastic gears and will hold up better against abrasive filaments. I installed it on my X1C and ran multiple filaments through it. While I didn't see any kind of performance increase with it, I also didn't have any problems or issues with all of my normal filaments. That being said, having already worn through several of the plastic extruders I have much more confidence in this setup that it will last much longer in the long run.

I installed the COMTREE Upgraded Brass Extruder Gear on my Bambu Lab X1C, and it’s been a noticeable improvement over the stock part. The golden RNC nano-coating not only gives it a premium look, but also adds real performance benefits—filament grips more consistently, and extrusion is smoother, especially during long prints. The build quality is excellent. It feels more solid and precise than the original gear, and the nano-coated surface helps reduce wear and friction, which is especially helpful with more abrasive filaments like carbon fiber blends. Since the upgrade, I’ve had fewer under-extrusion issues and more reliable starts, particularly with TPU and PETG. Installation was straightforward, and it fit perfectly without any modification. If you're already comfortable with basic printer maintenance, this will be a quick and worthwhile swap. If you're looking to enhance print consistency and long-term reliability on your P1P, P1S, X1C, or X1E, this little gear punches above its weight. Installed in less than 20 minutes. Watched a YouTube video regarding the installation prior to the attempt, very easy to disassemble my P1S head. You MAY need to print a Gear Removal Tool to remove the gear but I did not need it, but it is something to consider before you disassemble your printer if it's your only one. The tool just allows you a bit of space to drive out the gear shaft if it's stuck in the bearing -- mine came right out with minimal force. Kit came with two replacement bearings, the armature, main gear and a packet of grease. Having metal against metal, it's advised to apply a bit of grease where the gears will be touching each other to improve the life of the product. Ran a full calibration on the printer after installation was complete because there is an obvious weight difference between the stock plastic part and this new metal gear... metal... gear. Printed a few pieces on it with no issues, would recommend!
