I have a 2000 Cherokee with an Optima yellow top battery that cost me almost $300 so I bought this to keep it charged as it now sits all the time due to needing to be worked on. I have the solar panel sitting on the dash because the suction cups failed in less than 12 hours and I got tired of constantly opening the door to put it back on the windshield. Other than that it appears to be working, the Jeep starts every time and I've been using it for a couple months now. Winter is about to hit in Missouri so we'll see what happens with the cold weather and frost on the windshield. I will note I was fortunate enough to read the instructions before I ruined it and it needs to be unplugged before the vehicle. ... show more

I have a Chevy Suburban on my Ranch in Texas that sits for months at a time. I zip tie the trickle charger to the grille facing the west backed into a open end garage. It works wonderfully, so far the longest it has sat is 4 months, and started up like the battery was brand new. The alligator clips are solid and mount on the battery terminal well and I close the hood. The only thing that didnt work well was the plastic suction cups, hence i use the plastic zip ties andit's great, cut and go when I'm ready to drive it. Great off grid piece of gear... ... show more

This solar panel charged up my battery and with a inverter you can run some appliances. The higher the wattage on inverter more things can be used for example a NuWave cooktop and this solar panel will keep your battery charged 😀 👍. Must have, period. For outings, camping, fishing, picnics or for emergencies-power outages, hurricanes, tornadoes or earthquakes. Gonna get a couple more panels and a couple of lithium batteries and I'm set, of course a higher wattage inverter. This item is NOT a luxury it's a necessity. Portable and easy to handle. I purchased this with the intent that it would keep the battery in my food truck topped off, but I was left disappointed. I have a small food truck that I run once every 2 weeks or so and bought this hoping it would keep my battery charged as I only run it once every 2 weeks. Unfortunately, it does not do the job. At first, I thought maybe that my battery was old, so I bought a new battery for the truck. Even with purchasing a new battery, my battery was practically dead after 2 weeks. I thought that maybe the truck was drawing/leaking power from somewhere, but after inspection, the only electrical draw was from the clock, digital odometer, and the vehicle alarm. Perhaps I needed to order a unit that provides more wattage than 7.5 watts. I will give it good ratings on the packaging of the item, quality of the panel, ease of installation, directions and accessories. All in all, it did not provide the charging power that I needed. *** Side note, the battery in my truck is not deep cell or large amperage battery. It's rated at 75amps. ... show more
