We bought a cheap $100 canopy with aluminum poles. It said right on the box not for use in wind, snow or rain. Ok, I guess it would work in your living room. It lasted a week before a rain storm broke it to pieces. When we got this one we liked that it not only had thicker poles but was also steel. In addition, it has numerous braces to support it. Turns out it is a good thing. It has been up a couple months and one of the top bars has started to bend. We get some pretty windy storms here, so weren't surprised. It looks like it is holding now, thanks to the angle brace on those bars. I will see if they offer replacement parts. If so, I will update to five stars.

Easy to assemble, sturdy enough, the only issue i had was the grommet holes in the tarp canopy that didn’t hold up to the designed function in some cable points. But to Advanced credit, Ivy the customer service representative provided 5 star service in regards to patience, understanding, promptness of resolving the issue and kindness. Thank you for promptly replacing the defective canopy. One more suggestion for other purchaser’s is to securely anchor this structure at the feet of each vertical supporting pole and add 4 per side, 15” to 20” ground anchors with cables and turnbuckles to support against heavy winds. I’ve had the heavy winds in Florida’s summer storms each evening and the structure and tarps held up without issue.

I bought this in September 29th 2022 (ADVANCE OUTDOOR 12x20 ft Heavy Duty Carport with Sidewalls & Doors, Adjustable Height from 9.5 ft to 11 ft, Car Canopy Garage Party Tent Boat Shelter with 8 Reinforced Poles and 4 Sandbags, Beige). The item upon first installation, a few rivets holding the tarp fell off. On March 31, 2023, wind mangled the carport. I don't know how strong was the wind but nothing else around the house had any damages. A neighbor had a tiki style hut roof for her outdoor bar and it was un-damaged. I reached out to the seller regarding warranty. I provided pictures of the mangled carport. The seller wants me to pay $400 for a new one! Imagine if my car was underneath that carport. I wonder how much damage to my car would there have been. This product is worthless and the seller will not stand behind their product. Buyer beware. I will give them time to replace. If they do, I will update this post as such. If you intend to use this product, you must provide reinforcement! Know also that the tarp rips very easily. I had the base screwed into heavy wood base with three layers of cinderblocks to hold it down. The wind severely bent the base and the framings. UPDATE: I receive a replacement. Now I need to figure out how to make it withstand the wind.

Company reached out and offered to fully refund the cost. As it was already up and being used, we declined, however Kelly was helpful and assured us of their warranty service, we did recommend they consider increasing the thickness of the poles and cover. I guess we will wait and see how long everything lasts. =========================================== Not sure which part is 'heavy duty' but I haven't seen it. The poles are *very* thin walled, my 16g fence post is easily double the thickness. The cover is also a very thin material... fully expect to have to replace the material within the year. Cross brace connectors just slide into place with only the pushpin on the crosspiece holding it in place. The rope provided is very flimsy and not tightly woven, it is already pulling apart in multiple places. I certainly couldn't make one for the price, but claiming it is 'heavy duty' is somewhat misleading. Guess we will see how it holds up long term.

Structure is great, easy to put together! However the canopy is very thin.. advertised as being able to hold snow. But is the same gauge material as my shelter logic was and it tore easily! For the money the top should be heavy duty and it’s not. Very disappointed.

I have small business I run out of my garage and ran out of space for inventory. I'm not ready to rent a warehouse, so this turned out to be a great option. I was very impressed with the strength and design of this carport. I was even more impressed with how easy it is to assemble. I liked it so much I bought a second one 2 weeks later. I figure that when I no longer need them for storage, I can take one or two of the sides off and use it for parties. The second kit I got was missing 2 pieces, but the customer service was great. Jasmine had the missing pieces shipped to me and they arrived quickly.

Was missing two #1 frame tubes and had two extra #2 tubes -but could not use those in place of the #1's because they were shorter. Fortunately, I saved several tubes from the frame of the last canopy I bought from this company that blew over in a wind storm, and had to drill and modify them to fit this new one. Flimsy, thin steel poles that rust quickly, cheap spring steel locks that bend out easily, and a thin Tyvek cover that lasts no more than 2 summers before it tears. I will never buy from this company again. Look elsewhere for a better canopy -if you can; they all seem to be cheap garbage these days. Update: I contacted the manufacturer. They replied very quickly and sent my not only a replacement cover, but extra 45 degree stabilizer poles to reinforce the sides against folding. I'm giving them 3 stars for customer service only. The poles are still too thin a gauge of steel and the tyvek tarps still tear too easily..

Immediate response to question. I wanted to get one with windows and they offered me a great deal to send new sides. It works great even in high wind...I'm using sand bags to anchor.
