I bought these to replace the 23 year old wheels on my Scott's/John Deere mower. These don't look to be as sturdy as the old wheels but I believe they will last for several years. But be careful installing these. I almost made a big mistake. The old wheels had a about a 1/4" bolt that was installed from the deck side of the bracket and it had a sleeve/spacer that slid over bolt. The sleeve allowed the bolt to be tightened without squeezing the wheel. It also shimmed between the 1/4" bolt and the approx. 3/8" hole through the wheel. The bolt with the new wheels is about 3/8" and is turned down on the threaded end to about 1/4". At first glance after taking the first wheel off, I thought I was going to have to drill out the hole in the bracket to accommodate the 3/8" bolt but then realized that the bolt goes in from the outside of the wheel and then the 1/4" threaded end goes in the smaller hole in the bracket. Long story short, with the old wheels the nut was on the outside of the wheel and on the new wheels the nut is inside the bracket closest to the deck. ... show more

These are well constructed and of high quality material. The wheels weren't much different than the OEM ones I pulled off in every way, very solid. I wanted to use washers to space them out a little and provide a surface that the bolt head couldn't wear through the plastic of the wheel. This didn't allow enough room for the included locking nuts to make contact with the threads with the nylon lock ring. I ended up finding slimmer locking nuts in a drawer that worked perfectly.
