This kit seemed like the right fit because I like the idea of learning on a breadboard at my own pace. I can follow the eBook, and also have a cool project (the Midi Grand) to show for it at the end. I'm about halfway through the ebook and feel like I've learned a ton. I was going to wait until I had finished the whole thing before trying to build the piano, but it seems like the later lessons can be followed using either the prototyping equipment or the Mini Grand, so I think I'm going to start the project soon. Strenuous, but cool. I'm watching my fiance and our daughter (6) put this together. If you aren't used to building model kits (like Gundam, cars, etc), then this definitely isn't for you. I was initially thinking of putting it together with her, but it's far too much for me. Like, it's simple, but it's a lot of stuff involved. Including the actual coding! A lot of stuff in a small box. As others noted, may not be the highest quality components, but they were all there, clear instructions, tons of info on their website. Was a fun build, and can see building other kits and expanding my knowledge.
