I’ve been on an organizing kick lately, mainly because living in Florida means my wardrobe is basically a constant rotation of light summer gear and the occasional "winter" sweater. Plus, I travel quite a bit, and I was tired of my spare blankets and travel accessories just sitting in messy piles on the closet shelf. I picked up this 2-pack of the Univivi 24” x 17” x 12” bins, and honestly, they’ve cleared up a lot of my closet floor headaches. The Real-World Use These things are massive. I was able to fit two king-sized comforters into one box without having to fight the zipper or worry about the sides bursting. In the second one, I threw in all my bulky travel gear—neck pillows, packing cubes, and my heavy-duty rain jackets. Because they’re 24 inches long, they hold a lot more than those standard square cubes you see everywhere. The clear window on the front is a lifesaver. Since I travel often, I don't have time to dig through three different boxes to find my specific gear. I can just glance at the window and know exactly what’s inside. Pros: What I Like Surprising Sturdiness: Usually, fabric bins are flimsy and sag the moment you put something on top. These have a hardboard frame that actually holds up. I have them stacked two-high in my closet and they aren’t bowing out. The Dividers: There’s a removable divider in the middle. I kept it in for my travel stuff to keep smaller items separate, but took it out for the bulky blankets. It’s nice to have the option. Looks: The beige Oxford fabric looks "adult." It doesn't look like cheap plastic tubs, so if you had to leave these out in a guest room or a nursery, they wouldn't be an eyesore. Dust Protection: The lids fit well. Living in a humid spot like Florida, I’m always worried about dust and that "closet smell" getting into my linens. These seal up well enough to keep things fresh. These storage containers came sturdy, fairly easy to assemble (instructions would have been nice), and nice sturdy and durable material. I really liked the canvas material which should stand up to time. Not sure I have noticed a zipper feature for he storage containers I purchased. I got these to store clothes, kitchen items and extras for under my bed in my Casita. (travel trailer) I did get a long piece of velcro to wrap around 2 boxes so that I can pull them both up from the back. Lots of room, well constructed and should last a while.
