I have a slightly older Samsung TV with a crappy remote that has about 50 buttons and impossible to use in the dark. I recently bought a new Samsung TV with the updated, slimline, remote (similar to this one). I was worried that Samsung said my slightly older TV, UN43TU690TFXZA, does not support those types of remotes, but they were wrong. I found this one, purchased it, but there was a problem. The right side of the circle did not work. They immediately replaced it and the new one works GREAT! I love this remote. It has all the same buttons as the brand new one, in the same place, so there is no learning curve. Very happy with this remote!

As others have mentioned, the Netflix etc. buttons don't work if your original remote didn't have them, but they don't get in the way, either. My original remote's right-arrow button was wearing out, working only when it felt like it. The new one has a nice, strong signal, with no uncooperative buttons. The price was as low as anyone could reasonably expect.

I was being super greedy eating a crab boil while watching tv. I kept using my remote while eating it and much of that buttery seeped into my original Samsung remote and caused it to malfunction. I HATE universal remotes so I immediately searched for a comparable replacement. Please note that this is not an actual Samsung brand remote control. But it works just fine. No programming necessary, just pop in your AA batteries and go. My only complaint is that the receiver (or transmitter?) is not of high quality. There are times where I have to hold the remote and point it directly toward the tv vs. my Samsung remote which was powerful enough to work without being directly pointed. Again, this is not a Samsung remote. It’s a $20 Amazon remote so that is okay but it is the reason I docked one star. If you’re out of a remote, go ahead and order this one.

Opened it up and immediately got stressed because there were no directions. We have multiple samsung smart tvs - love them. But 2 night ago, the remote hit the floor and then the hubby managed to kick it around in the night and break it up to the point that it was unrepairable. Amazon to the rescue. Decided to go with the cheapest option knowing that it might not work. It arrived next day. Added in the batteries and there was no need for instructions. It immediately connects with the tv. No codes, no programming, and no connecting to the old remote. This remote for the WIN!! And I bought a couple of the silicone remote sleeves in the attempt to save the device if/when it hits the ground again!!

It’s cheap... the buttons for Prime, Netflix and Hulu don’t work with my TV and I certainly can’t get it to work with my Verizon set top box. It’s not an all in one solution by any stretch of the imagination. It doesn’t come with any kind of set up booklet or instructions either. This is about as bare bones as bare bones get so don’t expect much.

highly dissatisfied with this product i do not recommend to anyone. the remote doesn’t pair to my tv and i’m 22 and very good with anything to do with tech. i hope they are to get back to me and help solve this issue because i am to assume i was sent a faulty product and i am very disappointed and no instructions included as well so even if there wasn’t an issue i won’t be able to find out i’ve used every pairing method and tried all different things my universal remote option on my tv only lets me connect to a cable box home theater or game system etc and this remote doesn’t work with the buttons that it says you use to pair that are written just above the battery’s on the back of the remote. if they end up solving the issue as they rightfully should i will be sure to edit this review so i hope they do the right thing.

My replacement remote control works great except for the Speak Button. When you click on that button it just sends you to the picture, sound, general, support & terms and privacy page of your Samsung settings. I rarely used that feature so it's not a big deal for me. Besides, what this remote control has that the original does not is a button for Netflix and Amazon Prime, which I use on all day long lol. So I'd call that an even swap. Everything else works fine. My Samsung TV model is: QN85Q6FNA. I've had my TV and remote for 4 years and the left direction on the original remote control stopped working. I called Samsung and they sent me to their website to buy a new remote. That remote control cost $75 which does not include tax or any shipping they charge. I thought I'd try this "universal remote" for $10. There was no pairing needed. I placed the batteries in and it worked immediately. Just make sure your tv model is covered for this remote. I am happy with my purchase.
