Vice part works good .. The handel is too long unless you mount it to the edgof your work area. The rubber suction bottom dosent work well.. Looses su tion in a co minutes .. Even on a glass surface ..     • Overall good for small work
I think that this is a very good item for the money and the stability is quite good. The main drawback for me is that the jaw screw hub and handle are located too close to the face of the vise, i,e, when tightening or loosening one must move the sliding handle to avoid hitting the edge of the base with the handle each 1/2 turn. A 1/8"-1/4" spacer or washer would solve this, but I don't see a way of easily removing the main screw. If one were doing work on one piece or many identical pieces this wouldn't be much of an issue. Don't forget to moisten the bottom of the vacuum plate to get a good seal. The vacuum strength is very good. ... show more

    • Doesn't really suction to anything!
I have used flat ceramic tile. Granite and glass...the vise releases at the smallest pressure. The vise part works...I just have to hold it with my one hand and that defeats its purpose.

    • For crafting not carving
I got this item for small items I'm painting and engraving and for those it works well. Not so much for grinding and sanding with rotary tools. Ok if you hold it in place while using rotary tools.

compact size and holds odd shapes securely. the suction base would work better on glass type surfaces.

    • Disappointing
This thing won't stay put for more than a few minutes at a time. The suction cup lets go when it's least convenient. The crank used to open and close the vice is too long, which makes it frustrating to use during those rare moments when the vice actually sticks to the desk. Don't waste your money.
