My remote had been on the fritz for over a year but I assumed it just needed new batteries…which I kept forgetting to buy. When I finally did replace them, the remote stopped connecting altogether. I haven’t had to buy a replacement remote since way back when you had to get a universal one for all your components. So I was pleasantly surprised when I found out I could get a remote that’s the same brand as my tv. I didn’t have to do anything but put batteries in and point it at the tv. No pairing. This is a Hisense remote and works with older models. It worked right out of package , no set up required. Mine is over 10 years old. The buttons have good response and the fit in the hand is comfortable. My last universal off brand remote was too heavy and awkward to hold. I would buy again.

The TV remote functions as intended. However, occasionally you may need to press the buttons when you're in the middle of using the screen, and sometimes the buttons do not respond. In those cases, it's necessary to use the buttons on the TV monitor instead.

So our toddler completely trashed our original remote. Threw it many times, all scratched up, hardly works. The OK button was missing, and some of the arrow keys didn't even work anymore or were super slow to respond, so it was almost impossible to use the Netflix or YouTube app to click on a certain video/show/movie. I finally caved in and bought a new remote. Didn't know if it was for sure the right one (looked like it though) or if it was going to work at all. OMG, all I did was pop in batteries, and it instantly paired with my TV! Thank goodness for such an easy transition and a great, affordable product.
