I have had several of the original parts fail on my Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades. Previously, Hunter Douglas sent me replacements under warranty. They included the chord and were difficult to replace. This was very easy to replace, requiring a screw driver to remove the old one, then inserting the cord into the top of this followed by inserting the slider. This is sturdy, well made, easily installed and works great. The dimension of the unit's width wasn't listed and it is about twice as thick as what was original with shade. This necessitated repairing the previous screw holes, painting them and moving the unit farther away from the shade so as not to catch on the unit itself. the unit itself not including the bracket is 1/2 inch wide. This was a little fussy to install than originally anticipated, I am very pleased with it. A diagram including all dimensions in the description would be helpful. ... show more
