  • Solid equipment! Bar none!
I LOVE IT! I haven't attempted to use it for my original purpose, but I have every bit of confidence that it will. It feels solid, and a definite upgrade to the Volt 2 I have been using, BUT if you need a good basic interface, the Volt 2 is legit. So excited!

  • Great for small home studio.
Coming from a Scarlett interface. The preamps on this sound nice and the compressor is useful at times. Using this with a m4 mac mini through usb-c. Haven’t experienced any latency so far.

  • Great deal for 4 very nice sounding mic pres and 4 track recording
I currently have a first gen Audient ID14 which I love but I needed something that can run at least 3 mics simultaneously with phantom power on separate tracks. The Audient ID44 is my wish list- but at more than 2x the cost of this, I decided to try this out. I was not disappointed, at least for the basic need of running 3 large condenser mics with phantom on super clean, nice sounding pre-amps. Drivers sound like good quality. Comparatively for basic vocal work, I think it performs and sounds as good as my ID14 but with more tracks. Audient claims to have a bit more "warmth" in their pre- and their pres do sound awesome, but for what I was doing at least, the 476p kept up just as well. Seems like a a solid value at $102 per mic line in with phantom. The 476p phantom power is all or nothing. Meaning unlike the ID14 or ID44 you cannot choose which mic lines get phantom, but that shouldn't matter much as if you send phantom to something like an SM58, it really won't make a difference. I do also like that on the 476, when you press the button to turn phantom on or off, it will start blinking before it turns on and when its on, it will blink before it turns off. This can help you avoid plugging or unplugging mics while they are powered on or about to be and from prematurely unplugging them before they are powered off. I like the two independent physical headphone level controls too. Since the ID44 is more than 2x the price of this device, I don't think its really fair to compare the two. But if you compare with the ID14 I would say I prefer the interface of the ID setup and also like there is a built in DI on the ID14. Both the ID14 and 44 have optical audio which the 476 do not. I used this with Logic Pro on a M4 Mac Mini so good compatibility there and fully function. Connectivity was easy with USB-C and then wall power that came with a full set of international adapters. I haven't really used the "Vintage" button or onboard compressor, so I can't speak to those. I do everything else on-board. If you are just trying to track something simple with up to 4 inputs that will fit your budget and let you do some singer songwriter stuff in you bedroom or small home studio- this will work great for you. But otherwise there isn't really any features or frills. The I/O is simple. If you really don't NEED 4 channels at once and use instruments that use DIs, I might suggest looking at that Audient ID14 to save money and some desk space. - see image for size comparison of the two. (The ID14 is ~$345 new at time of this post for MkII and the first gen can be had for $180-300.) I've had the first gen since it came out and it's still doing great. If you are wanting some more expandability and features, then check out the Audient ID44. BTW, I'm not paid by audient at all and there may be lots of other great audio interfaces out there- but I'm most familiar with Audient so that's my benchmark. That said Universal Audio also makes the Apollo series which is top-line professional stuff and really great at the studios I've seen it. But the price is also way higher too. Physical Build is also really nice. The real wood endcaps are a nice detail and the updated subtle modern but vintage inspired styling is a nice aesthetic. ... show more

  • Works fantastic and is solid - and he’s y
My prior audio interfaces and mixers (150-200 dollar range) -literally I thought, Is this Podcast Barbie life size Minibrands let’s play podcast set? No. This is legit. Not plug and play but that’s okay. Just take the time to set it up and it’s good to go. It could be plug and play but I set up the audio recording studio as a backup even though that’s not the platform I’m using it on so that could be the issue. My advice: buy a case. You want this to last. ... show more

I’m seriously impressed. Build quality is top-notch, setup was easy, and the sound is incredibly clean and detailed. The real-time plugins are a game changer. Worth every penny so far!
