Was buying a replacement for an old focusrite solo and needed a new audio interface. Bought an Audient ID4 and after four hours of trying it to just output to my studio monitors, no luck. Gave up, got an Amazon return (thanks Amazon), and got this. Plugged in the Volt 2 and within 30 minutes had everything setup. It will tell you you have to download drivers but it is made way simple through automatic device identification when plugged in via USB C. So automatic four stars from me on simplicity of setup and design of physical device. Earned a fifth star by having amazing DAC and sound quality. With my pc under load I used to get some very audible internal electrical interference when using the focuserite solo. That is completely gone with this new audio interface. Love my volt. Great for direct-in guitar , but a little soft for my Mic's . Sound quality however is great comparing it ti my old M Audio duo interface. I find myself using the included VSTs more than anyhting else I own. Highly recommended

Feels super solid, sound is great, simple inputs, great for a new person like me. I have nothing to compare it to and I’m not an audiophile or engineer, but if you care about quality items and you don’t know where to turn, I can assure you that this is a good choice.

Got it as an alternative to an amp since I live in a big apartment complex and play mainly during the night since I get off work around midnight normally, and it does the job well. The DAW that you can get from UA is also really good for recording instruments and vocals and they give you a good amount of free plug-ins that you can use with it, including effects pedals as well. Definitely worth the price if you're looking for something that wont annoy your neighbors or want to start recording yourself ... show more

Very easy to use. Low latency and well built. Runs off USB power without any additional adapter. Comes with a ton of free software and plugins, although they take a bit of time to set up. For the price you get great audio quality, which is always my main decision when purchasing a unit such as this. A solid build and can be bus powered thru the usb-c port. Very compact and makes a good portable addition when used with a laptop with USB-C ports that can supply power. Not sure I would ever use the midi ports on the back as I use usb midi keyboard etc. There are a few quirks that gives my rating a 4 star instead of 5. The main one being the unit is fairly sensitive to input gain and is somewhat difficult to set properly with only two LEDs to set the level. The other is how the direct monitoring works vs audio coming from the computer. You can not adjust or balance the level between the two with this unit when recording and using the direct monitoring functions. When recording while playing previous recorded tracks you will need to adjust the playback from the computer using your DAW software if using the direct monitoring functions. Not a huge deal but one I think UA should correct in the future. It would be better to ditch the midi ports and add a better input LED display and add some method of balancing the playback from the DAW vs the direct input signal coming from a mic or instrument. I have not tried the Vintage function but assume it works as stated by UA. All in all a good purchase vs the competition. ... show more
