My campus bookstore wanted 800 dollars for Doctoral regalia, and 100 just to rent it. This robe is every bit as nice. The material is not shiny and thin, as I feared it might be. The velvet is a dark, rich blue, and the gold piping is understated and elegant. I'm so happy with my purchase.

Perfect!!!! The price does seem a little high if you only plan to wear it once, but honestly it really is worth it. I wish I would have bought it when I actually graduated and not waited until I became faculty. My only advice is to buy it early. It ships quick but you need enough time to get it professionally steamed. Also, the tam was too small for my head so make sure you can have time to exchange it if needed.

It was true to size. You could order a size down for a closer fit. The thickness of the material was just right. The velvet on the arms and gold trim were finely detailed. The tam was also high quality with velcro to adjust size. I was beyond pleased with the quality, design, attention to detail and the speed with which it was shipped. I highly recommend this seller. It beats the $600++ dollars that university vendors try to rip you off for.

My robe arrived without the tam. But, I emailed them and they immediately shipped it. Fortunately, I had enough lead time to wait. The quality is good, but as many said, it does run large. I saw several complain about the tightness of the sleeves, and they are rather snug, but all in all, I am satisfied considering the price paid.

I graduated from FSU so I wanted a gown with garnet and gold. This is perfect. The material is thinner than I expected but the quality is really good. It falls right below my knees and is about 7 or 8 inches away from my ankles. I'm small 5'2', 115 lbs so it is large on my body. I considered ordering a longer gown but I don't want it to be too big. I look forward to wearing this to my 1st graduation as a full time faculty member.

Very pleased with the gown--full and regal. The first tam that arrived had what appeared to be little white paint flecks stuck all over it. I reached out the seller and they eventually sent me a replacement that looked fine.
