I have cats who like to claw up the carpet and I can already tell there won’t be a need to worry about it because of the colors and thickness. First off, the packaging was 1st rate. Upon opening the carpet I noticed that the color was slightly darker than the picture. Which I actually preferred. But after my brain cramp eased, it finally dawned on me that the carpet grain is slightly lighter one way, and duh, of course slightly darker the other. Looks really nice in my living room. First off this rug is beautiful and soft. Nice thight weave and it feels like a nice thick rug. Excellent value for the price and I could not be happier. That says a lot. Now as far as the color goes I am an artist and I know my colors...the middle area of this rug is not a "light brown" like maybe a paper bag color...The middle area of this beautiful rug is Taupe...which is a neutral color that falls between Brown and Grey. It has flecks of beige in it. It is definitely on the cool side of brown, not the warm side.. It is a gorgeous color. The brown on the border is a true Dark Brown, the color of bittersweet chocolate. So...if you are wanting a rug that is "light brown" in the classic "tan" brown this color will not be for you. I expected it to be the lighter brown, but actually I am super happy with the color that it is. ... show more
