I am not one of those customers who gives a bad review because they’re unintelligent and didn’t even follow the instructions properly. I followed the instructions, gave this time to air out, but it is the most firm thing I have ever laid on. Not sure how on earth it has gotten reviews for being soft. Maybe I got a dud, I would not be too proud to say that maybe that’s a possibility, because all of these reviews are good for a reason, unless they were all paid. Lol But this came in very dirty for being “brand new”, (and I’ve ordered a lot of used items, and it’s worse than any of those), and it smells like musty mold- not “right out of a factory” smell. Not sure how that happened in plastic, unless the plastic was damaged somewhere that I did not see, or it happened before being sealed. I gave this a very fair shot, and I really wanted it to work, but it really is so extremely firm, folks. So if you want soft… THIS IS NOT SOFT. ... show more

    • Comfortable mattress topper that helps alleviate my lower back pain in the morning

This 2” gel memory foam twin mattress topper is comfortable. It seems a little firm for my tastes, but I think I need that firmness (I’m used to sleeping on a pillow-top baffled waterbed, which is what I put this mattress topper is on). I am a back sleeper and I sink down into this mattress just a little (I’m 125 lbs). I have been having lower back pain, and this mattress definitely helps me to not be incredibly stiff and sore when I get up in the morning. It came tightly rolled up & vacuum sealed but was very easy to unbox, open up, and lay on my bed. I let it sit for 48 hours and it expanded perfectly to fit my side of our Cal-King bed without any creases. My only complaint with this mattress is that there is a chemical smell. It faded a bit over the 2 days I let it sit, but after 4 days I can still smell it. I might need to let it sit out in the sun for an afternoon or 2, and that should take away the smell. I have deep pocket sheets, and they still fit even with the extra thickness of this topper. I have slept really well on it this week, and the mattress topper doesn’t seem to make me any warmer than usual. It is currently a colder climate so I can’t attest that it won’t be too warm in the summer months, but I don’t feel that it gets too warm like I have experienced with other mattress toppers. I love that there is a removable, washable cover. I did try out a 4” gel memory foam mattress topper on our guest bed, and I like the 4” thickness better, but that’s all up to personal taste. I didn’t think I really needed a mattress pad, but this gel one has changed that opinion of mine. It adds so much more comfort to the mattress. I usually like a firmer mattress, so the only downside of this mattress pad is that if you sit in bed a lot like I do, it is easy to sink a little bit because of the gel. It is a decent mattress pad. It needed 48-72 hours to fully flatten out. For a queen size bed it was 2 side by side foam pieces that go inside a cover. That is a little odd. So far it is holding up pretty good. I will update as the weather gets warmer to see if the cooling gel really does cool.
