    • Highly Portable, Much Nicer Than Expected and an Excellent Value
I actually have considerable experience with lighting and photography. Not only have I been a photographer for most of my life, I also ran a high-end photo equipment business for many years. I say this because I have handled, used and sold a very wide range of lighting systems. So, evaluating this system I start at a place with some perspective. Now, I must first preface this review by saying I am evaluating this system in consideration of the price point. I am very pleased with the system, the ease of use, the functionality and portability. It is much better than I expected it to be. It is undeniable that you can get much more rugged and overall, more functional systems. But you can expect to pay many times more than the cost of this one. Here, you receive two extremely light weight rectangular LED lighting heads. These are not RGB. But they have a matrix of LEDs of alternating color temperature, cold to warm. These are not variable in themselves. But you have the option of selecting only the cold LEDS to be on, the warm LEDs or both. This gives you three color temperature ranges. The panel itself is of variable brightness. So, when using both you can select the ranged color temperature of each as well as the brightness. This, along with the difference in angle and distance at which they can be placed, as well as using optional diffusers on each head allows a wide range of variability in lightning. The included stands are extremely light weight, being plastic. They have all of the adjustments that you will get on professional stands. But they lack the robustness. However, considering the heads are feather light you do not need that to get stable light mounting platforms. The system is powered by one power cube per light head. The controls are on the power cables, which are of generous length. The controls are on/off, mode and brightness up and down. These are perfect for shooting product photos as well as video and photography set ups. The system can be set up in minutes and breaks down equally quickly. Simply attach the heads to the stands, adjust, plug in and go. The broken downsize is very compact. These components can be placed inside of several small stuff sacks or a hard case for extreme portability. That is a huge plus if traveling or moving them around. You can also break these down and put everything back in the boxes they came in. You will want to handle these with care, not overtighten the adjustments, etc. They are inexpensively made, not cheaply made. From all appearances if properly cared for they should provide durability and reliability long term. There are two points I will make. The power cubes are moderately large. So, you will need to make sure you have provided for plug space for these, either by having a ready open wall plug, an appropriate plug expander or power strip. These stands and heads are very light weight. They are fine for use indoors or out. But, if being used outdoors I would weight the stands with a sandbag or other system for securing them, as the wind will easily topple the assembled head and stand combo. For the price point these are excellent lights. If the above meets your requirements I am sure you will be pleased. If you have more professional needs or extra money to spend you can definitely find a way to spend it. For me, and my use this system is perfect and easily gets the full five stars. ... show more

These LED photo lights are really big and come with sturdy, adjustable stands. The lights allow for different hues and different brightness settings. The cords are decent in length and provide the settings to be modified on the power cable instead of the back of the light. There's nothing more frustrating than setting up the light exactly as you want it and then having to readjust it on lights with the brightness button on the back of the light. These have the buttons on the cord so you can avoid this issue. I plan to use these for photography as well as general lighting around the house when I need extra lights. The other day I needed to use these lights when I was working on a project that was on the other side of the room from the room lamps. I bought this for my child to help with lighting as she makes her videos for a digital media class and so I asked for her opinion as she is the one who is using it. She really like this lighting system especially since she has been making videos on an old tablet that does not have great inbuilt lighting. She loves the fact that she can get different light modes and brightness levels which she has been experimenting with. It is also lightweight and easy to move when she has to move it around or store it away. Her only complaint is that each light needs its own outlet which can be a premium in a kids room.
