It's just okay for me. Too heavy for someone my age. It has the regular umbrella material but a heavy plastic lining also. The fold up is hard as the release bottom only folds it so far and you have to be able to do the rest. Plus, there is a hard snap and pull against my hand and arm when i push the release to fold up. Thus, it's always partially closed. Due to weight, it would be hard for me to handle if I was in an actual storm situation. It's a quality umbrella, just not for the elderly. I kept it and will give to one of my kids.

I have had folding umbrellas in the past. They worked as well as expected. The trick about them is when you are trying to get back in your car when it's raining, you end up getting somewhat wet while you are trying to fold the umbrella back down. That is where this umbrella excels. Press the button once to unfold it into a nice, large, wind-proof canopy over your head. And when you're ready to get back in the car, press the button, again, and it immediately folds down allowing you a much faster re-entry into the car, and a much faster and dryer ability to close the door. This is a unique and much-appreciated feature of this umbrella. I can and do enthusiastically recommend this umbrella.

It weighs down purse a lot. After using automatic close you have to push it together to close all the way. Takes a lot of strength to push closed. If you have any shoulder or wrist issues this is not gor you. Also difficult to put back together to use velcro fastener. Impossible to get back into carrier pouch. I threw mine away. Would not purchase again. Overall is sturdy. Color and fabric nice. Easy to open.

No way can you use the cover once you’ve opened the umbrella. Material seems cheap and I don’t expect it to last long. Ok for an occasional umbrella, don’t expect it to hold up with heavy use. I’ve owned better. ☹️
