This was a great purchase. Just what I needed to cut limbs that were too large for my pole pruner. I like the fact that the head of this is just a lightweight saw as opposed to some that are a combination pruner and saw. I also like that it has a claw at the far end of the saw that assures as you are cutting you do not slide off the limb on the down stroke, but it has no claw at the base of the blade (which some competitive saws do have). The claw at the base of the blade would just get in the way when trying to position and saw. I was worried that on limbs that were not rigid enough I would be pulling them to and fro and potentially getting the blade caught in the wood, as I tried to saw. But with judicious use of the saw, I have not had problems. But yes, if depending on where the limb/branch is attached and how much motion it has when you pull the saw across it, it would be difficult to cut with this device. So are I have successfully cut limbs up to about 2-1/2" in diameter and suspect I could go larger. The handle is easy to assemble with as many sections as you would like and completely rigid as you use it. This tool was exactly what I needed except that I should have purchased the 14' unit instead of the 10' version. Since the pole is so lightweight I think I could have easily handled that longer unit. Unfortunately Hosko does not sell the extension pieces separately. Oh well.

4/18/23: No negatives so far. I'll update this if it has a problem with durability or anything else. The product was well packaged and they put the directions on the bottom of the box so that you don't cut them when you cut open the box itself. The manufacturer includes an extra bolt and nut in case you're clumsy and lose a set. They also provide a set of wrenches to tighten the nut/bolt with, which is a really nice touch. The tools and wrenches comes in a little zip lock bag which you can then use for other things if you so choose. The blade itself is contained within a heavier plastic sleeve which snaps closed at the bottom and has a reinforced hole at the top so that the blade can be hung on a nail/screw. The blade cut easily through a 2" branch on my first use, and the hook at the end of the blade was helpful in pulling the large branch down out of my grapefruit tree. At this point the item is highly recommended.

We just removed 26 trees from the back yard, and this was a valuable tool in removing the rest of the opportunistic scrub trees that had grown in the now unshaded space. The blade flexes a bit, which can cause binding, but for the price, the tool is sharp and sturdy and shows no sign of the abuse I just put to it. As an aside, I appreciate the simplicity of just unscrewing a section to shorten the pole.

Was hesitant to purchase because of the cheap price point but this outperformed my $100 saw from Lowes by a mile. Easy to use. Extremely sharp blades. Durable handles. Very easy to assemble and disassemble for storage. Have loaned it out to my neighbors and blades still just as sharp as the first cut. Took down branches over 3 inches in diameter with ease.

This is definitely a two handed saw. To apply cutting pressure you need a holding/sawing,movement hand, and a hand to exert cutting pressure. Also, the object being cut needs to be a firm, non-moving fixed limb. I think under those conditions it would perform quite well. Again, the quality seems quite high.

This works quite well. The segmenting of the long pole is a helpful feature. I would like it better if everything at the head were stiffer and there was less flexibility in a shorter blade. I'm satisfied with the purchase, however.

The saw is sharp, light, not expansive, and easy to use. If it is a little bit thicker and would make it seems sturdier. Overall it is a good purchase for my garden needs.
