Description

UnbuckleMe was founded in 2016 by Becca Davison and her mother Barbara Heilman, an occupational therapist and grandmother of four. When Barbara couldn't unbuckle her grandkids' car seats due to arthritis in her thumb, she used her knowledge as a therapist to invent a solution to her problem.

The research is clear that rear-facing for as long as possible is very important for child safety. However, it does offer some limitations as far as where kids can sit in the vehicle and makes buckling and unbuckling quite the event. We decided if we could teach our oldest to unbuckle herself then we would be able to not have to climb into the back of the van as often. So we go back to buckle her in, but she is now able to unbuckle herself using this tool. She is responsible enough to know when to unbuckle (when the car turns off). I know some parents only hand them back to their kids when they are stopped completely and that seems to be a good solution if you have a child who lacks impulse control. This has been amazing. My daughter also helps my son sometimes to get out of the car seat if I'm taking "too long." It's just all the way around been an amazing addition to our car routine! My 5 year old has mastered this tool, but my 3 year old is hit or miss if he can get it adjusted correctly. Still a win in my book! ... show more

My 5-year-old granddaughter is very petite and has not been able to unbuckle her car seat which always made her anxious. This little tool works perfectly and my granddaughter is confident and happy at her ability to get herself out of her car seat. I bought one for her momma to keep in her car too.

I bought these to allow my 4 year old daughter to free herself from her car seat (harnessed booster). I taught her how to release her chest clip, but she wasn’t able to release the crotch buckle on her own. These work perfectly and she is now able to undo her crotch buckle with ease. I wish I knew about this product when my kids were babies. I always had such a hard time undoing their carseats. I first heard about this on Shark Tank and it is the best product ever. I recommend it to everyone. We had one for years, but the Arizona heat and leaving it in the car all the time eventually took its toll. My daughter starts kindergarten soon and I knew she would need to be able to get out of her car seat quick in the drop off line. She has no problem undoing the latches on her seat except for that pesky big latch at the bottom. She can’t quite get it pushed down all the way to release the buckles. In comes the UnbuckleMe!
