I've only used it once, so far, and I did find it a bit hard to open because of a fingertip problem, but it seemed to have sturdy fabric - making it a good sun blocker, is lightweight, is very compact, and is really cute. The little case is nice and very cute, and it has a loop to use a carabineer.

This umbrella does what it says, it really cuts the sun and heat temperature down, I even gave one as a gift. It is not the best quality so that is a problem..probably would not last long for everyday use. Fits nice in a purse..like the colors also..and it comes in 2 sizes

It opens to a pretty good size for how small it folds up, but that's the only good thing I can say about it. Open and closing this thing is like a wrestling match, and the way it's built is shoddy beyond words. The canopy isn't even properly sewn onto the frame, it's held on with those little plastic things used for attaching tags to plush toys! One of the ribs snapped after only 8 months, and for 3/4 of that time it was sitting in its case not being used! Take my advice and buy something sturdier, even if it doesn't fit in a bag as easily.

I bought two of these umbrellas for emergency travel use for myself and my wife. When they arrived I opened them both. They both opened ok. They are not automatic. They are light weight and should be opened and closed with care, but they are what I was looking for - small, lightweight emergency umbrella to put in a pack or purse. I do not care for the zipper cases as they just add to the size and bulk, and will not be using them. There is a cloth cover which I was able to put back on the umbrellas. We have not used them in the wind or rain, so that verdict is out, but I would not use this umbrella for everyday, regular use. I did like the round knob handle on the bottom for gripping in lieu of a longer full handle to keep it small but graspable. For our specific use as compact emergency umbrellas, the price and size work for us, but there are probably sturdier and better made ones out there for a higher price point.

I bought this because I wanted a small, compact umbrella to carry in my absolutely overstuffed work backpack. I travel a lot for my job, and I get caught in the rain frequently. I didn’t want to carry around a big umbrella that got everything wet, so I took a chance on this. Best purchase ever! The carrying case is small enough to fit in the water bottle holder on my backpack, and it keeps the umbrella from getting everything wet after use. Plus it’s my favorite shade of purple. I’m probably going to buy another two so I can keep one in my car for when I’m not at work and one for my husband. Highly recommend!
