  • But I would recommend this product to anyone
If I could give this product 10 stars for quality, I would. It is well made and all of the pieces are milled and drilled precisely. However, I gave the product 4 stars out of 5 because the assembly instructions could be improved. First of all, the written instructions are small and it was very hard to see and understand the connection and bolting details. There were several hand applied sticky notes that had been added to give some clarity. I consider myself an above average mechanic and I struggled to figure out how to put this trailer together. I realized that I had installed the side rail brackets upside down and had to redo all of them. I also made several other mistakes because you had to look real close at the details to figure out where the bolts went. I suggest that the assembly drawings be blown up to 8 1/2" x 11" sheets and add more details. But I would recommend this product to anyone. It was fun to put it together, although a little frustrating at times but all's well that ends well. One other comment. I believe there is an identical version of this trailer that is made from steel rather than aluminum. Based on my experience assembling and moving the aluminum version of the trailer, I think the steel version would be very heavy and difficult to use. ... show more

  • Just buy it!
I wanted to save some money and get the Harbor Freight trailer, but I took a chance on this trailer and WOW am I impressed. It looks great. I mean it just looks like a good quality trailer. The wife was even happy with how good it looks. Had some stranger stop me at Home Depot (getting the plywood for it) and asked me where I got it and was impressed by how it looked. As others have stated, the instructions are not the best, but they are not totally useless either. With some studying and looking at the pictures it all comes together and makes a little bit of sense. I only had to redo two bolts, nope four bolts (wrong bolts on the rear spring) out of what seemed like 267,000 bolts. It took me around 10 hours by myself to put it all together. It's heavy but no so much that you can't flip it yourself. What was heavy was the box that the wheels/bolts came in. I lifted it but thought forget that, and took the parts out of the box. The electrical instructions are a mess. If you read the first line or three you'll see that it makes no sense and you might as well throw them away and use your common sense. The little pictures did help some. I am very impressed by how the trailer tracks, it's so smooth and straight. Bumps in the road are not user friendly and the trailer will bounce a lot when empty/not much of a load. The trailer is not easy to see when backing up empty, but with my kayak loaded it made it very visible and extremely easy to maneuver. There is not much reason to back up to the trailer to hitch it, as it's so light it's easier to just pull it to the vehicle. I do back the vehicle up to within a 2-3 feet though. The 45 MPH Limit. Well I'm no car expert/tire expert/bearing expert, but the trailer does perfectly fine at speeds above and beyond 45 mph. Had it in the 70s for several miles and it was nothing but smooth sailing. I seriously couldn't be happier with this purchase. ... show more

  • Trailer lights didn't work because wiring grounding system was defective
Installed lights and wiring per the instructions and they didn't work at all! (1) Spent days diagnosing the problem, (2) Replaced the entire cheap thin-gauge wiring and plug connector with thicker-gauge ones and (3) Completely re-routed the grounding wires to get the lights to finally work. Spent $110.93 total on a multimeter to test continuity and voltage, a plug tester, a new plug connector, new wiring, and wire connectors. Watched numerous YouTube videos about these folding trailers and common threads were the poor instructions and the lights not working due to poor grounding. Beware! ... show more

  • Perfect! Except…
The concept is brilliant, the instructions are remarkably good, and the overall quality is top shelf. You’ll have a trailer to make you proud. There are these two bolts, though, that need to be welded in place… before installing the leaf springs. Once the springs are installed over the heads of the bolts you won’t be able to get a wrench in there to hold the bolts while (attempting to) tighten or remove the nuts. Meaning that you can assemble and use the trailer, but not fold it up for storage. Weld those two bolts. The photo shows the head of one of the aforementioned bolts, but it’s almost invisible between the spring and bracket. I had to disassemble some parts to get the access necessary to weld the bolts. That having been done, it’s a wonderful, lightweight little trailer. With $300 of diamond plate for the deck it’ll look like a $2,000 trailer! Oh, and there are exactly the correct number of bolts, nuts, and washers included; don’t lose any! And did l mention that, like another customer, I had to do a little machining on the axle to get it to mate properly with the leaf springs? Details, details… ... show more

  • Delivery time
Trailer was delivered in 3 days from Northern Tool by Yellow Freight to a regional trucking company. It sat at their facility for one month before I was able to track it down and call the carrier for delivery. I was very disappointed that Amazon didn't provide more assistance! The trailer assembles well after you figure out the instructions and make a few assembly mistakes. Use an electric driver to install all the bolts - it makes it a lot faster especially if you have to disassemble and although I had metric tools I had to buy other sets that I didn't have. I have been working on it as time permits, but it is taking longer than I expected. I am to the point of doing the wiring now and hope it goes well. With that said, it is a nice well constructed trailer and I would recommend buying it! ... show more
