  • You get what you pay for
Style: Desktop Stand w/ Second Tier
I held my nose and hit "buy" on this because I needed a nice laptop stand for my mobile DJ laptop/controller. The price is more than I wanted to pay, but it does purchase you a high quality laptop stand that won't need to be replaced any time soon. It can be used in different configurations, but I mainly use it as is pictured. I do like that you can attach this stand to a microphone stand and do that when working in my studio from time to time. ... show more

  • A great stand for the Money
Style: Desktop Stand w/ Second Tier
Very nice looking, although there are some plasticky parts on an otherwise solidly built stand . It's platform seems very stable. There are some quirks that can get annoying. The main adjustment knobs are like all ultimate support knobs, very hard turning and uncomfortable to really wrench it tight. The Knobs that fix the angle of the laptop are some of those plasticky parts I spoke of. Theyre OK but, I wish they were metal. I also wish it were height adjustable. Now the one thing to be careful of is the Main Knob I spoke of above that basically locks the stand open or closed for storage. When the stand is locked open, a bolt comes through to the inside of the stand with no rubber tip protector. If one were to slide a Push, Maschine, or another controller in there without knowing, that metal bolt would scratch/scar the back of your equipment on contact. If it were to sub back&forth or being used while under vibration while in contact with this bolt, it'd do quite a bit of damage to the Controller, Keyboard, or connector on the rear of the controller. It's a great stand for the money and looks absolutely Awesome. It's not a concrete foundation and couldn't withstand the weight of an actual controller on the upper stand, but it's also more than half the cost of the UDG Creator which sets the bar for Laptop stands nowadays. It also stores pretty small compared to the open dimension and weight that it is. ... show more

  • HyperMount QR
Style: Mic Stand Mountable
Ultimate Support's website does not explain what stand(s) can be used with the HyperMount. I called their support for their suggestions. Just use one of their mic stands with a quick release. I am using the MC-40, I just took off the boom arm. There is enough pieces parts between the mount and the stand that I didn't have to buy anything else. The clips in front that hold the computer, if used as described in the instructions, might scratch the computer where you would rest the palms of your hands while typing. I am using these clips inverted/backwards, the computer is not as secured, but it would take quite a hit to knock the computer out of the mount, there is enough rubbery surfaces to keep it from easly slipping out. Maybe some protective tape on these clips would prevent marring the computer. On the backside of the HyperMount is a set of metal fingers/arms, to hold the computerin the back. Maybe designing the perfect shape is difficult because, notebooks have a range of heights and screen swing clearances, but it is metal and can scratch the computer. I will use protective tape. The whole assembly, the stand and mount, is sturdy and holds the computer very well. ... show more

Style: Desktop Stand w/ Second Tier
Love this stand. Exactly what I expected. Solid, heavy. Keeps my vintage TR-707 and TR-727 secure.

  • Can't use it
Style: Mic Stand Mountable
I can't use this anymore because it is so easy for the laptop to fall off. The plastic collar that connects this unit to a tripod stand breaks very easily, and when it is broken there is nothing to prevent the whole bracket from swinging around freely on the stand. This results in the bracket wanting to swing away from you and dump your laptop whenever you touch it or bump the stand. ... show more

  • Deceiving product quality..
Style: Desktop Stand w/ Second Tier
I recently picked this up last year thinking it was the best laptop stand in the world and it was great until I found out that it was completely put together by what appears to be brass sleeves pressure fit into place to hold everything together rather than set screws or actual hardware. After a couple months of use this thing basically disintegrates since every joint and connection on it disconnects because there's nothing physically holding it together other than tiny sleeves that were pressed into place... ... show more
