Let’s just say that I finished this in less than a day. Once I started reading, I found myself still going at it four hours later until 2am before I finally took a break for sleep. The very next day I was right back into it. I didn’t really know what to expect for how Shawn Wilson was going to continue the series, but this book absolutely nailed it. I was hooked. The character development plots were actually pretty emotional and I couldn’t help but get choked up with each and every one. It was a delight seeing everyone grow and develop, creating their own cities and sharing their histories with their people. Even as gods they still have their own trials to overcome, along with scattered mistakes. I can’t wait to see what else Shawn bakes up, and I hope that the next books come out in rapid succession. I love this series and I hope it never ends. I was a little worried as it moved into this next phase but I absolutely loved the balance between world building strategies and action. I hope the balance stays this way in the future. Only thing I wish they had was a map of this new world and the old one. Can't wait for the next book!! ... show more

I like this series. I've clearly followed it this far but I do think it gets a little cheesy with all the "you're family and I don't let anything happen to family" stuff that goes on. It feels like I'm reading The Fast and The Furious and Max is Dom. I also would like to know how far this series is going to go. I feel like it should be nearing the end but I know in this genre it seems like authors have trouble finding an ending to the story and it carries on too long. I hope that doesn't happen with this one ... show more

Honestly not worth being the next arc of the series. This should have been released as a novella in the series. The author wrote this long drawn out sim-game story, repeating the same message over and over. So in 1 - 9 Max was OP for the most part. It seems the next arc Max will be the underdog. While the other black skills are growing more powerful Max is playing house. The author for reason is throwing in an OP daughter in the story, maybe he's a fan of Witcher. So now Max and his daughter are going to be the ones carrying everyone else. This is one to skip and just wait and read the recap in the next book. ... show more

Great start to the next arc! A lot of changes with Max and crew being Gods. No more dungeon runs and slaying hordes of monsters for stats. Shawn does a great job of building the world and getting you ready for what comes next in the series!

This one was slower paced, but still a lot of fun with new challenges to overcome and even more “world” building but this time it was on a grander scale. Looking forward to the next one!
