I did take off 1 star because, the bed frame could be 1" longer so it's at least a little bit easier to put the sheets and blankets on, as it is my quilt goes on the outside of the foot, and the middle legs could be inset a bit so I quit stubbing my toes on it. This bed is great. So strong and very well made. Easy for two old folk to put together. My one complaint is there is a leg on either side at the center of the railing. I get it. But if that leg was somehow inlined a few inches, it would save on bumping toes in the dark.

This frame seemed great at first, but within a few months it started showing its limitations. It doesn't damper shaking when someone moves, and now squeaks very loudly with the slightest movement, waking me up every time. They claimed 3500 lb weight limit, but it doesn't seem as heavy duty as they allege. My husband weighs 290, I'm 130, and our dog is 15 pounds. I might not be great at math, but... Sadly, I think it's time to look for other options. (Also, if you have a tall mattress, the headboard and footboard get engulfed in it, negating the aesthetics of it.) ... show more

It took over 2 hours by myself to put the bed together. You definitely need a rubber mallet. The middle side legs need to be padded, hit my toes quite a few times while putting on the sheets and bed spread. I put a piece of tubular foam pipe insulation around the 2 side middle legs. I also bought and put a 4’ x 8’ sheet of 1/4” plywood under the mattress since the cross support beams are not very wide and are about 6” between them.
