I have been doing photography for almost 15 years and I have always loved the idea of having the ability to quickly and easily add a pop of light into a photo or video. I have used light wands in the past that require their own special battery and charger and run out of battery life really quickly and were more expensive than this and it had left me feeling like they aren't worth the hassle.     • Good light but feature disparity with other Ulanzi lights

I will be comparing this to the VL119 since that is the only other Ulanzi wand I have, and they're listed in the same product listing. The B15RGB is overall a good light - very bright especially in Overdrive mode, but has some minor setbacks. Concerning the weight, It is a bit heavier than the VL119. I'm guessing due to the larger battery. In HSI Fast or Slow effect mode, the colors have a lower resolution compared to the VL119 on the same mode at brightness below 20%. You will notice larger "steps" between the colors and this is also true for RGB mode. At higher brightnesses, there is more color resolution. The RGB mode on this light has features to change hue and brightness of the light, but it does not have a setting for the saturation of the color unlike the VL119 despite seemingly operating on the same controller\software. I'm not sure why these features are not consistent but it would be nice if we could update the onboard firmware to include this feature. But I don't even see this product listed on the Ulanzi website anymore leading me to believe it was discontinued and is just being sold until it's gone - but that's just an assumption. Bootup time from power on is faster than the VL119, and the control wheel makes adjustments VERY fast and convenient. I like the push-and-hold power button rather than the slider switch for turning on the light compared to the VL119. I operate my VL119 in a dark nightclub environment and it's hard to remember which button. On this B15RGB, you have a power\mode button, and the wheel that also presses in to switch what function it is changing. It's a much more simple and efficient process. The magnets, while convenient in theory, are not very strong so take caution when using them. Your light may slide on a slippery metal surface. The removable diffuser is interesting, but it doesn't come with any other diffusers or modifiers so I'm not sure of the purpose. The undiffused lens is still kind of frosted/textured, but not as much. Due to the ventilation holes, I would not risk using this light in inclement weather. I can't comment on battery life since I just received the light, but I expect it to be pretty long at low brightness with the large battery on board. ... show more

These are amazing if used correctly…. We have a restaurant in our community Tuscaloosa Alabama. It’s called Hakkaido. It’s a Japanese sushi hibachi restaurant. Their food is absolutely amazing and deserves to be lit properly. These lights to the trick.

I picked up this ULANZI RGB light wand for some extra color and fill lighting in my YouTube videos (@LawnandOrderTexasEdition) and it works great. The color range is huge (2500–9000K), the brightness is solid for a handheld, and the magnetic back is super handy for attaching it to toolboxes, mowers, or shelves while filming. ⚠️ Heads up — the photo in the listing shows two lights, but you only get one in the box. Not a big deal once you know, but it’s worth noting to avoid confusion. Battery life is surprisingly good. I’ve gotten 1–2 shoots out of a full charge, but I’d recommend charging it fully before each use if you’re filming longer clips. ✅ Compact, lightweight, and portable ✅ Magnetic + tripod-mountable ✅ Accurate color and bright enough for close shots ✅ Great for adding pop to product reviews or backgrounds I use this for lighting my mower shots and gear reviews, and it adds a polished look without needing bulky gear. Picked this LED handheld for a trip to the desert to do an amateur photoshoot. Most LED light bars are over $100 with features I really do not care for. This one's biggest concern to me was the battery life, which for me has been better than any of the reviews I have read. This handheld produces a ton of light, can be threaded into a tri-pod, tons of simple controls and modes... amazing product for the price. Super light and comfy to hold. ... show more
