  • Great Strings
Size: Concert Style: Nyltech
D'Addario makes great strings, plain and simple. These sound great, and settle in quickly. Ukulele strings stretch a lot when you first replace them. These are no exception, but they do stabilize fairly quickly, then they stay in tune extremely well once settled in. They sound great for a long time, too. I have changed these less often than I expected. ... show more

  • Great tone!
Size: Concert Style: Nyltech
I decided to try these as an alternative to the Aquila New Nylgut strings and was quite pleasantly surprised! The D’Addario Nyltech strings actually sound noticeably better than the Aquila. They produce a warm and resonate tone that is a little punchy and very nice! This part is not as important but these strings are also a nicer color. Instead of being bright white, they are more of an off white or cream color, which just makes them look nicer on the instrument. The sound is the most important thing though, and these strings sound great! ... show more

  • Less stretching more playing. And good price!
Size: Baritone Style: Nyltech
Got a new set of strings? Do you spend a lot of time stretching them so they'll stay in tune? Would you rather spend less time stretching them? Then, you'll like these. I have tried other brands and different price points, and I keep coming back to these. While all new strings need to be stretched in the beginning, it seems like these take less time to settle in than others. And they also sound and feel great. Plus, they usually hover around $6 price wise. You can get two sets of these for the price of some of their competitors. If you want to spend more time playing, less time stretching your new strings, and save money, get these! ... show more

Size: Soprano Style: Nyltech
I used these on a cheap ukuleleDiamond Head DU-106 Rainbow Soprano Ukulele Light Blue these strings made the cheap ukulele come to life. I am very impressed with these. Standard Ukulele Tuning Method This is also known as “relative” tuning, why? Well, because you will tune the four strings relative to each other. This is a perfect method if you are playing on your own and you want to have all your strings sound good together, but it isn’t that accurate. This will cause issues though if you are playing with other people. I will guide you through the steps. 1. You will use the first string (A) as a reference to tune the other three strings, this is why this method isn’t that accurate. You won’t notice it if you play alone though, but you will if you play along with songs or friends. 2. Place your finger just behind the fifth fret on the E string (second string). That’s an A note. Now when you pick the first string (A), it should sound the same. You can adjust the the second string with the tuning pegs on the headstock until they sound the same. ukulele tuning step 2 3. Place your finger just behind the fourth fret on the C string (third string). That’s an E note. Now when you pick the second string (E), it should sound the same. You can adjust the the third string with the tuning pegs on the headstock until they sound the same. ukulele tuning step 3 4a. Most ukulele come standard with a High G string. Place your finger just behind the second fret on the G string (fourth string). That’s an A note. Now when you pick the first string (A), it should sound the same. You can adjust the fourth string with the tuning pegs on the headstock until they sound the same. ukulele tuning step 4a 4b. If you’ve chosen to use a Low G string on your ukulele you can use this method. Place your finger just behind the fifth fret on the G string (fourth string). That’s a C note. Now when you pick the third string (A), it should sound the same. You can adjust the the fourth string with the tuning pegs on the headstock until they sound the same. ukulele tuning step 4b This might take some practice to train your ear, but it’s an easy way to quickly tune your ukulele. If you know your notes on the fretboard you could also come up with other combinations. Piano Tuning ukulele notes on the piano You can also use a piano to tune your ukulele. You can see the keys af the piano above, match the notes of the piano with that of your ukulele by ear, this can also take some practice. As you can see G C E A = sol do mi la. ... show more

  • These strings are overall good. They have a very sweet tone
Size: Concert Style: Nyltech
These strings are overall good. They have a very sweet tone, and feel nice. However, please be aware that they are very warm, and in certain ukuleles this can translate to a boomy, wooly sound. These would work best in a very bright ukulele. They also have a lot of stretch to them, but once they are fully stretched they hold tune. Edit: After a few weeks of stretching out, the strings sound much better. It took a long time for them to finish stretching and hold tune, but now that they are, they stay in tune great and have a nice even tone. ... show more

  • not the strongest but sounds great
Size: Bass Style: Nyltech
I like how they sound but I really wish I could buy each individually. they fray or stretch in certain spots if you're not careful. I had to buy another set because my D string got stuck on the nut and only the portion over the headstock stretched until it snapped.
