  • Nice for a Newbie
Never thought I needed one, but my company forced a job specific laptop on me. It seems to be a quality unit and was easy to set-up (use the labels on the KVM switch and not the instructions). I really like the remote switch feature as I can get all the cables, and the box, off my desk.

  • Decent KVM switch
It is really easy to set this up for a switch between two machines setup but it does require a lot of cable plugging to both machines so I only give it 4 stars because it creates a bit more clutter. Otherwise, it is working great out of the box and have all the cables that is needed to set it up.

  • It's ok.
It's ok. It's a bit slow when transitioning from one device to the other, but it works. This is a USB 2.0 device so do not expect USB 3 speeds. There is no USB-C on this, so if that is part of your need you would need to use adapters or look elsewhere. Overall I just needed something to help me transition between personal and work equipment without having so much clutter on my desk. This satisfied that need. ... show more

  • My third and favorite KVM
I've owned two previous KVM switches, both with their own annoyances and shortcomings: dropping connections to my wireless keyboard and mouse, not switching between screens reliably, etc. So this unit has been a refreshing change. WHAT I LIKE: * It's got a noticeably smaller footprint than my other KVM switches, even though it has *more* ports. The box is a *tiny* bit thicker (higher), but that doesn't matter me; it's the length and width that affect my desktop real estate, not the height. * It has more ports - and who can't use more ports? How does that happen with a smaller footprint? It's because the ports are laid out in a clever and, for me, much more convenient manner. * With the one of my two extra USB ports, I have my Sennheiser headphones plugged in and they work with whichever computer I'm switched to at the moment. I love that, because that connection is rock solid and I know it'll be there when I switch computers to take an incoming Teams or Zoom call. No panicked fumbling around trying to figure out what my Bluetooth connections are: work and home laptops will be using the headset via USB, which leaves my Bluetooth connections free for my phone and iPad. Heaven! * I'll be using the other extra USB port for either my external SSD or a thumb drive: great for quick file transfers from one laptop to another. Download to USB, switch, upload to laptop. * The "Desktop Controller" is genius. No reaching over the desk trying to find the switch on the top of the KVM box without knocking over my coffee of phone stand! I can switch computers without hardly lifting my hand from the keyboard (my mouse is just to the right of my keyboard, the little KVM controller to the left). I'd usually prefer a hotkey combination, but I could never get that to work reliably (or at all) with my two previous switched. It's small, it's foolproof, and best of all, I'm going to move the KVM switch and all those cable connections right off my desktop - thus reclaiming even more deskspace. It's funny that it turns out that my favorite feature of this product might be one I didn't even realize that it had when I bought it! OTHER COMMENTS I really do recommend this unit. This KVM switch is a little more expensive than the previous ones I bought: but it's better and, in my opinion, worth it. What's more, there's currently a coupon that bring the price down to within a couple of dollars of what I paid before, which makes it a no-brainer. In case you're curious how close my use case is to yours, here's what I'm running: * Laptop 1: Dell XPS 15 9500, Windows 11 * Laptop 2: Dell Latitude 7420, Windows 10 * Monitor: Dell U2719, 2560x1440, 60 MHz * Mouse: Logitech Ergo M575 * Keyboard: RK Royal Kludge RK87 ... show more

  • Works as expected but little slow on transition
This is a decent KVM switch. It works as expected, but I have noticed a bit of a delay between switching machines. I have had others that were a bit quicker, but also some that are slower. I do think this is a decent and affordable option, but I do wish my desk was a little less cluttered. It does what it should and does help reduce the manual process of switching cables. I do like the button to switch and the lights that indicate if you are on machine 1 or 2. I do wish the USB ports were 3.1, but for this price, it is understandable. Not bad, but there are some better options with a little research in my opinion. I still would recommend overall though. ... show more

  • Reliable Performance But Lacking Some Modern Features
As a previous Ugreen customer who owned one of their basic keyboard/mouse switches, I decided to upgrade to this model to also control which computer's display is shown on my single monitor. In that regard it has been an excellent upgrade over my past switch. I really appreciate that Ugreen included all the necessary cabling in the box for a smooth setup. The switch allows effortless toggling between my home laptop and work laptop, changing both the display output and input control with the press of a button. One major plus is that it allows connecting up to 4 USB accessories - I have my keyboard, mouse, external HDD plugged in. Toggling the switch changes all connected devices between my computers seamlessly. The video quality passing through to my monitor remains excellent. Switching time of around approx. 2 seconds is pretty quick and on par with other KVM switches I've tried. The device never gets warm, thanks to the passive design without a fan or power adapter. My main gripes are lack of USB 3.0 ports and indicator lights showing the active computer. But for my uses, the USB 2.0 speeds are fine for basic peripherals. And I positioned the switch so the button is easy to identify by feel. Overall, this switch has been a worthwhile upgrade over my previous model. Being able to easily toggle my monitor between computers, in addition to the keyboard/mouse control, has made my workflow much smoother. For home office use, I would certainly recommend this Ugreen KVM switch. ... show more

  • A good KVM option from Ugreen
I've owned Ugreen devices before, have been overall pleased, and have worked with their customer service before successfully, so I wanted to try out this KVM. Overall it is pretty well-made, the cabling and instructions are clear enough, and the device performs the KVM functions as well as I would hope. My biggest caveat with this device is the missing USB 3.0 speeds, assuming you want to use the ports for data transfer. USB 2.0 are still pretty standard in these basic KVMs, but at this price point I would have expected the upgrade. Other than that, I am satisfied and will keep using it. ... show more
