I have this clamped to my futon (yes, I still sleep on a futon) so i can watch videos in comfort. It has some difficulty locking on round rails, but clamps strongly onto flat planks. The length lets it wobble a bit, but it hold a 10 ounce phone fine even at full reach. The holder end clamps with a spring grip that holds a phone just fine, but only pivots on a ball socket.     • FELL APART IN 1 MONTH!!
The components were heavy duty. But they couldn't stay together. The metal inside the rubber coated long "arm" broke at the base. The clamp that holds the phone came off the arm. Became junk in a span of 30 days.

I only have gotten this purchase delivered today. However, I already really am enjoying it. I work from home and prefer my phone for quick meetings and also purchased this to assist in better posture when scrolling media for extensive amounts of time. I did not need the instructions, it was very straight forward to set up. The build quality seems good, but for optimal stabilization consider stacking the coils like in the image above. This can essentially be a good stabilization tool also for videos if you get the balancing correct. The coil is a little difficult to move an isn’t very mailable but that’s great for camera stabilization. I have an iPhone 13 Pro in a sturdy otter box, if the coil is not stacked and is linear it will outweigh the wrap and lean or shake. If you stack and bend it appropriately I really think it’s a great tool. ... show more

I have several different extensions similar to this but this one does not compare to the others. It is very unstable, with an iPhone on it, the weight of the phone makes it very difficult to get it into the right position without major compensation for the amount of weight displacement. Once it is in position, if you even breathe on it wrong it will spring up and down like a pendulum and will not sit still. I believe this is caused by two different variables, tensile spring in the armature and the length. I would only suggest this for use in an environment where everything is completely still around it, no walking, wind or hating motion in the near vicinity and the camera can be operated remotely. Other than that, the overall construction is alright, the clamp works fairly well with iPhone or GoPro but both are heavy for the length. ... show more
