  • Works for a small size person.
I got this UGarden Stainless Steel Toilet Safety Rail for my dad who needs assistance when he uses the toilet, he is small size and skinny on his 95. I could assemble the rail with little to no difficulty and could position it against the toilet and set the correct height for him. It looks sturdy and he can sit and stand by holding the handles with ease; however, I noticed that it tends to open a little to the sides so I am guessing a much heavier person may feel uncomfortable using it and feel unsafe. At this point it is just my observation, and the rail may hold well. ... show more

  • Good basic support system
This toilet safety rail is easy to assemble and easy to put in place, however, I feel it could be a bit more sturdy. I got this for my 90-year-old mother but she is a thin and light person and still has decent mobility. I think if this was used by anyone with a bit more weight and more wobbly, this may not work as well or maybe even be dangerous. It really requires you to put equal weight on each side of the rails and is more in line with a walker than a true safety rail system. I also was not crazy about the rails that ran along the back of the toilet seat. The toilet seat in the up position bangs into them. You can remove the toilet seat but then there are still rails at your back when you sit down. Although it is adequate for the current needs, I will more than likely look into a sturdier system that bolts onto the floor or wall when granny gets a bit more feeble. ... show more

  • Functional, but has issues.
This is an okay, if wobbly, set of toilet safety rails. I was initially attracted to this toilet safety rail because installation doesn't require removal of your toilet seat, plus relocating is easy. However, I had some issues after assembly. This set of rails is pretty wobbly. Even locked down to the shortest height and width, these rails sway from left to right and front to back. This will be difficult to use for people with limited mobility. Furthermore, these rails are not symmetrical when fully open and assembled. They have a left frame and right frame, each of which is supposed to open out 90 degrees. Fully opened, you have a three sided set of rails. Once opened, you are supposed to pin the arms in their opened position. The frames I received have been constructed such that they do not open fully at 90 degrees. Rather, one side is 90 degrees and the other is (estimating) 87 degrees. It's unappealing to look at and is also more difficult to use, as it requires uneven application of force on either side of your body. These rails might work in a pinch. They are certainly more affordable ($46) than some of the others I've seen. However if possible, I would try and find a different set of toilet safety rails. ... show more

  • Easy to put together and to use
My husband is due to have a hip replacement this year and is already having a difficult time getting up and down from a sitting position, so I thought I would get this for him to make his life a little easier. It's very easy to assemble and is adjustable according to your height. I would suggest though that if you are having an extremely difficult time getting around the house and need to rely on things being more stable to steady yourself with if you lack upper body strength, perhaps getting a bar that screws into the floor would work better for you. This one works well if you have decent upper body strength and it grabs onto the floor well, but it's not 100% and does move a little bit while using. ... show more

  • A little side to side sway but not bad
Easy to assemble and arrives in a fairly compact kit which is nice. It is pretty stable but has a little side to side shimmy that if you're super shakey, it may feel a little unstable. There is a crossbar behind it that you can cut a piece of pool noodle to cushion it in case you sit back too quickly. I ordered this to put in my bathroom for someone who has some mobility issues that will be visiting and it will do the trick. it definitely adds a little re-assurance if you have had knee or hernia surgery as well. ... show more

  • Arrived loose in a box, damaged, not as wide as advertised
This arrived loose in a box and was all scratched up and damaged. It was also not as wide as advertised. The dimensions must be for the outside, not the inside.

  • Easy hefty build plus an affordable investment towards safety.
Never ever be embarrassed as we are ALL getting older. This will aide and prevent accidents to the costly ER and more. The box it came in was a bit tattered but the items inside were safe and sound. Very very simple 1 page paperwork instructions. 6 steps to finish. Lay out the parts like a simple model kit: Right frame, left frame, leg extensions, front legs, back legs and clips. Like other reviewers noted the rear horizontal bar leans against the toilet and can mar the surface. I would add a piece of thick Flex tape where the bar meets wall of the toilet to prevent scratches, wear and tear. The item may rock back and forth as only the rear legs are secured to the floor via the leg bottom suction attachments. Has .8mm thick stainless steel frame that is supposed to support up to 350 lbs. Cannot review this area as am only 140lbs. SUGGESTION to the manufacturer. I would have added suction type attachments to the front legs too maybe?? At least have the option to do so. Not much more to add to this but works with my body size and frame. If you are wider this may be problematic. Width is adjustable from 20" to 25". Height is adjustable from around 26" to 33". Decent foam thickness at the armrest side areas for comfort. No tools or drill work needed. This item can be moved from location to location easily without hard work. • Not stable
I bought this for my 90+ year old mother and was very disappointed as there is limited leg stability and the suction cups never did grab.

  • Decent
This is a pretty good toilet rail system. It was easy to assemble and I was able to adjust it to fit where it needed to between a wall and a cabinet that my toilet sits in between and I am still able to open my toilet seat without issue. The bars offer pretty good support. They stay steady forward to back but they rock back and forth a little. I think that just comes with this design style, without a crossmember in front. But that also makes this less bulky which is nice. Good for the price. ... show more

  • Helps provide stability when trying to get on and off the toliet
The UGarden Stainless Steel Toilet Safety Rail is a great device to provide support when getting on and off of the toilet. This is great for any disabled person who can lose their balance easily or needs to be able to hold on to handles in order to have support when sitting on a toilet or getting up. I could see this also being used on a standard dining room chair too (without arms on the chair) to get up and down from the dinning table. I like that the rail can support 350 pounds because this can help some of our heavier relatives. The adjustable width and height can help make sure the rail is at the best height for you or your toilet. It is fairly easy to assemble and very sturdy once assembled. ... show more

  • Convenient and comfortable
The support frame has multiple uses, in that it can be used as a walker and as a stand to place around a toilet seat, allowing a person, elderly or with ailment to use as a support and for getting up from a toilet seat. It is built very sturdy, a bit on the clumsier side if transported as it cannot be folded like the standard foldable walkers. It's very light, since it is made of SS tubing and has non skid feet for safety. ... show more

  • Good Toilet Safety Handles. Great Support Up/Down - Less So Side/Side. Back Bars Can Be Annoying
This is a well made set of toilet safety handles. The materials are solid, and it is well made. It is rather easy to assemble and to adjust the height up and down - important both when there is more than one elderly family member, and to adjust as the level of assistance changes. I reduced the stars for two reasons. The most important is that the way it is made it gives great support going up and down - however - because the side-to-side support bars are in the back, the handles are not so steady if there is any pressure that pushes the handles out to the side. This is a problem is a family member does not put their weight and pressure going totally up and down. The other reason I reduced a star is he way that the back support bars are on the outside of the back of the toilet. When using the facility you will feel these if you lean back. Not so much a problem for those who "do their business & go", but a problem for those who use the facilities as an extra "reading room". It simply isn't comfortable if you lean back. Still this can work well, it just depends upon your needs and how the family members needing assistance will tend to use it. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble. Could be more solid
Fairly easy to put together. Shifts around a bit from side to side though—wish it felt a bit sturdier. Really like not having to remove the seat to install it but I wish the the bar in the back had some padding or a covering to protect the porcelain from rubbing. If o had to replace it I would probably go with a different one. ... show more

  • Basic Light Duty Toilet Grab Bars
This was easy to put together for someone with average hand strength and skill. The set itself is not the sturdiest. I find that it wobbles some and just feels slightly flimsy. I would not recommend this to someone who needs to put full weight on the bars each time they use the toilet. Also although the weight listed is 350 lbs, I would not recommend this product to someone near that weight. My husband and I are about 200lbs for reference. We needed something to help slightly due to a balance issue and this does work for that. ... show more

  • Not sturdy
I had high hopes for this product because it was a temporary fix and I didn't have to do anything to my toilet. Unfortunately it is not sturdy which makes falling situations more likely. The support rails to hold onto to help steady yourself are so wobbly! I do not know if it is just the one I received or if it is an error in production. I would definitely look into a safer more study option. ... show more
