We have been using this grill for camping/RVing since we purchased it in 2021 and love it!! It’s perfect for 4-6 burgers or chicken breasts, dogs, brats, etc. and only uses 10-12 charcoal briquettes. We dump the ashes in the fire pit when it cools down, and brush with wire brush as needed. While the included bag is a great idea, getting it back into the bag is too snug, so we put ours in a different canvas bag I had from school teaching days (pictured) but any would work.

I purchased this grill primarily to use while out relaxing on hikes with a small fire in the cold months. I like to cook up a little lunch and have a cup of coffee. The mini grill is a good option for this as it allows you to make your fire wherever you want without leaving a fire ring or scorching the ground. The design is very smart and efficient. It is a lot sturdier than it would appear to be with the wire legs but they interlock and it is very stable when cooking or adjusting the fire. The stove and hinges have so far held up to many fires without much issue, a little warping but nothing substantial enough to worry about. It also comes with a nice canvas carry bag that keeps the stove from sooting up other gear in a pack or vehicle etc. The only real down side is that it can be a bit tedious to get to burn clean, there is very little airflow at the bottom of the burn box. It is a grill and not a stick stove, so there are no vents on the bottom of the grill to draft. With charcoal it is not an issue but burning damp wet wood on a rainy or cold day can be a smoky affair. A few simple tricks such as stacking a stick cross wise at the bottom to allow airflow or otherwise propping your fuel load will allow the fire to breath better. I carry a small (1") rolled section of expanded sheet metal that I place in the bottom this allows air to be drawn from the sides under the fuel. Happy trails!

Discovered inspiration for this above the ground wood stove in the Japanese "Solo Camping for Two" and ordered one for my next trek. Like it. Heavier than expected but sets up easily and well and does come with cooking grill. (Anime suggested using on a protecting ground cover which was a separate order. Not an ultralite backpacking item and won't use often for a solo trek, but nice for hiking with others when shared items can be portioned up.

Are you ready for this? Cooked one russet baked potatoe, wrapped in tinfoil, plus one bulb of garlic, wrapped in tinfoil, plus two chicken thighs (indirect) all at the same time...with ease on my mini. Made my lid out of tinfoil 7 by 9 container. Used a wood dowel off an old little wok lid. Note: Used three tinfoil containers pushed together to give the lid some body. It took ten coals. Had the potato and garlic on for a half hour, then on went the chicken. Half hour later everything was done perfectly. Should have taken a pic of the food. By the way, I think I could have gotten away with eight coals. My probe was reading 400 degrees. I love this little thing. Definitely, going in my fire kit for camping. Looks like I finally found a homeboy that is small and works! Believe me, I have eight or nine different kinds of camping grills and stoves. I feel like a collector, or worse, a hoarder! What I’m trying to say is I have paid the dues with camping gear and I know when something fits right into the cut. I’m a solo truck camper type. This is perfect for me. I think my lid works great. Punctured a hole with my probe into the side of the lid. It’s hard to keep it under 400 degrees with the lid on. But, that’s ok. My chicken was over the indirect side so It didn’t burn it. Check THIS out: Put a russet potato naked on the indirect side. Covered with lid and 45 min later a perfect baked potatoes with CRISPY SKIN! Just the way I like them. I’m experimenting, like closing off the holes on the charcoal side to keep the heat down. I cut a piece of chicken wire to form a little V, then wrapped it in tinfoil that fits up against the charcoal side holes wall. It worked to separate it down the middle for indirect cooking. You can also just pile the coals up on one side and not go through the hassle of making a tinfoil V separation barrier. It’s not a smoker. I’m not that adventurous, but for grilling like you do on a Weber, this grill can do it all in a mini version. Having much fun wiring this little jewel.

Purchased to use as a grill when out in or rv We really don't like the grills that are on most campsites and needed something small that would work for 2 people. After a few uses, this has been a good grill for us. It can also double as a small fire pit. Folds down to a very small footprint and packs easily in a carry bag that comes with it. This makes it good as it is easy to pack and takes up almost no space which is important when you are storing it jn our trailer.

I really like this product! I’ve used it multiple times as a fire pit using wood to cook/heat foods, roast homemade marshmallows. It’s super compact when folded, it’s easy to clean and setup. It comes with a metal lifter to remove the grate while it’s hot, which is nice to have. The grate fits VERY securely on top, even a pot of liquid is very sturdy on this grill. The grate cannot slide around when it’s properly placed on the grill as it should be. It’s extremely well designed to lock into place over a couple of flat “sides” on each side, as you can see in the listings photos. It’s not hard to remove, either. It’s small enough to bring or use anywhere. It really does pack FLAT! Really cool! I don’t have much to compare this item to as I’ve only recently begun camping. It’s certainly not big enough for a large group to use at once, but for up to a few people it’s great! I usually am only using it for one person, so for me it’s perfect! My brother seemed to like it a lot too and said he would like to have one for himself. The one thing that could be an improvement would be if the carrying case had a handle on it! Otherwise it’s basically the perfect portable fire pit!

I purchased the size Large b/c it is for car camping & the Large is big enough to accept standard size (16”) firewood. No additional cutting or chopping needed to fit the logs into the fire pit. This is an excellent product. Good quality in the build materials, fit & finish.. I have used it several times. It is sturdy, folds compactly, and has not warped despite being used with very hot fires (seasoned hardwood; several hours burn time). It still folds neatly into the storage bag. I have used this fire pit for several weekend camping trips, and most times we burn fire 24/7. This product has held up so well, I’m considering buying the size Med for backpacking trips.
