  • My favorite watercolor pens. They are fantastic!
Color: Terra Cotta
I use these watercolor pens for creating Pointalizim artwork. I have been using this brand since 2006. Unfortunately, my original sets have dried out, so now I am replacing them with my orders here on Amazon. So far they have all arrived in a timely manner and are as good as my original sets. This pen, English Red, is one of twelve from the Renaissance set that Marvy Uchida no longer sells as a set. I will be buying the pens individually so that I have a complete set again. Purchasing them this way is more expensive than when I purchased the set originally, but the colors are so wonderful, I don't want to do without them all. It's worth the money and being that they are shipped from, and in most cases sold from, Amazin, I can return them if one or more are dried out. Some come from Taber and they are enclosed on a cardboard back. The pens I have received from them also come quickly. I will continue to order these pens from both Amazon and Taber. A perfect match for all my watercolor pen needs. I will definitely recommend them to anyone needing art pens. ... show more

  • Great marker
Color: Blue Grey
I paint fairly big rocks (sometimes a little heavy but I can carry them). I bought Uchida 1122-C-41 double ended marker to help me with shading and the color. It works great. I bought another one that was a different color and I think it’s going to work great too. This is a very nice pen and very well worth the money spent. ... show more

  • Great pen, unless you get an old dried up one
Color: Brownish Grey
It was completely dried up, always a risk when buying these pens, which are usually great when they are not dried up.

  • Nice double end marker however defect caps
Color: Light Brown
This is the second one of these pens I've had; the first popped the cap in storage and dried out. Well, this one was heading for trouble when I noticed the cap also just fell off after I had replaced it. You have to really press it on, and even then there is no "click" to show you it's firmly in place. I'm not the only one to have observed this defect in Marvy Le Plume II. One end is a handy micro pen, great for drawing and fine lining, the other end is fine brush tip, can be used for lettering, calligraphy, coloring or even stamping. Light brown, the color I got, is a tan brown, like saddle leather. The color "Suede" which I had before, is similar and a softer beige-tan. Brown is a darker, slightly redder brown. And terrecotta is redder still, dark brown a chocolate brown. If you look at the entire neutral brown range, you have everything from light flesh tone to deep ebony for making character portraits or coloring. A nice line of neutrals also includes some grey tones and sepia. ... show more

  • Le Plume II
Color: English Red
Uchida's Le Plume II is a water-based marker that can be used on a variety of surfaces, including paper and fabric. I own several different colors and use them to dye or hand-paint custom fabrics. The marker has two tips: fine-point, which is very small and hard, like a felt-tip pen, and a brush-tip, which is softer and large, more like a paintbrush. I like that you can pick which tip you want to work with, depending on your needs. I also appreciate that, unlike other fabric markers by the same company, the Le Plume II has no odor. This doesn't mean they're safe to inhale (always work in a ventilated area), but it does mean you're not gagging on the scent the whole time. These markers come in many different colors. When I did a test sample on muslin, English Red turned out exactly how I wanted, a lovely dark wine-red. When I used the marker to dye a pair of satin doll shoes, however, the color dried a dark reddish-purple. I have no idea why the color changed so drastically! Perhaps it was a reaction to some chemical in the satin? It turned out useless for my project, but I'm hoping to fix the shoes by over-dyeing them with a cherry red marker. In any case, be aware that colors can turn out differently on various fabrics, so always do a test sample on the fabric you're using, if at all possible. I'll subtract a star for the unfortunate color problem, but otherwise, Le Plume II markers are wonderful. Highly recommended! ... show more
