    • Decent Tripod But Cheap Carry Bag

You can use the Starlink directly on the ground, on the hood of your car, on top of a travel trailer, etc., but sometimes in a wooded area getting the Mini up helps you get an unobstructed view of the sky for best reception. It's also less likely that someone will step on the Mini and damage it. This isn't a heavy, bulletproof tripod but it easily gets the Mini up about 4' off the ground. Another feature is that the legs will spread out very wide, including horizontal. That can help the tripod stay stable in a breeze. If the wind is really blowing you can spread the legs out all the way and put some weight (a rock, a log, a sandbag) on top of them for even more stability. The one downside of this product is the carry bag that comes with it. It is very thin and cheap feeling plastic of some kind. It feels like it will become brittle easily and will tear if not handled carefully. I replaced the included bag with a heavier nylon camera tripod bag that will last much longer. ... show more
