I use it to prime canvases and also use it instead of white acrylic paint. Titanium white acrylic pain is expensive. This product is lower in price and seems to be a good substitute. I learned this trick from acrylic artist, Jerry Yarnell years ago.

This gesso is very glossy and plastic-y. I was disappointed to see it looking so cheap on my wooden panels and hand-cut canvas, but it’s my fault for thinking I could buy cheap on serious projects. I ended up using it to size the back of my panels to prevent them from warping. It is fine for practice or amateur projects, but if you’re serious about painting, I wouldn’t use this as your size+ground. I compared it to Golden and Blick and both were much less glossy and richer in texture. ... show more
