Description

To restore your vehicle's factory cooling efficiency, all TYC radiators are equivalent to OE construction for number and placement of fluid tubes and cooling fins. For those radiators with transmission oil coolers, the tanks are molded using heat-resistant, high-density polymer plastic for added protection against extreme engine temperatures. Each TYC radiator is leak-tested before leaving the factory to ensure consistent quality.

  • I guess I am just unlucky.
Bought this based on good reviews, and price to product. It was a royal pain in the ass to install, this is not TYC's fault. This is just the design on the PT Cruiser. Anyway, after hours of finagling and wiggling and scraped knuckles, it was installed perfectly. No leaks, nothing. Fully bled the system. Fan installed just fine on the rad, condenser too. Roll forward 5 days. I notice a few drops of HOAT coolant under the bumper where the rad sits. Uh oh. Roll forward 10 days. Every start, and every time the car reaches operating temperature and the coolant starts flowing fully, it just dumps a ton of HOAT directly under the bumper. No, it's not the thermostat or hoses. They are all brand new, and fully checked with no leaking. Took a closer look, the plastic part on the bottom of the radiator was cracked. Which is odd, because I was extraordinarily careful during install to be gentle. This was not a job I wanted to do twice. So much for that. Since I'd already recycled my original Mopar radiator, I've had to live with it leaking and just keep topping off the coolant. I have a feeling I'll have hit and miss experiences with the other radiators, so I'll save for a few weeks and go the 100% full aluminium sports radiator route instead. Should outlast the car. Oh well. Your mileage may vary on this. ... show more

  • Fit perfect and was a great price for 2005 PT Cruiser
It arrived well packaged and undamaged. It fit perfectly, had same mounting holes as the OEM. It already had sealed plugs installed in the AT cooler lines, which was great for my 2005 PT Cruiser, which uses a separate AT fluid cooler in front of the radiator under the AC condenser. The OEM radiator also had these sealing plugs installed so this was a match for what I removed from the car. No issues on installation. Recommend for non-turbo 2005 PT Cruiser, but believe it fits most other years. Is working great, no leaks. ... show more

  • Great Radiator for the Price
I have read a few reviews that said this radiator does not fit perfectly in their PT Cruiser. If you have a 2002 early style 2.4L then this radiator will fit properly. I did not have to modify anything to get it to fit. The install is somewhat difficult as far as radiators go. I have never done a FWD radiator before so I didn't realize how little room there is to maneuver things out of the engine bay in this area. Getting the fan assembly out was really the only difficult part and just requires removing the radiator hose, the 6 (I think) bolts, and connector, and some wiggling. Afterwards, the radiator just needs to be detached from the tranny cooler and condenser and comes out somewhat smoothly. The quality on this piece seems pretty high. I haven't had any issues yet but I have only had it on the car for a little over a week. This is cooling better than the stock one because it doesn't have bent fins or a hole in the plastic tank like the old one. The packaging was substantial and did the job well. It comes with the built in transmission cooler but I didn't have lines long enough to run to it so I kept the stock one. The only bad think was that one of the mounting tabs was bent when I received it. The box was in perfect shape so I know this happened at the factory. I simply used some pliers to bend it back and it worked fine after that. For the price, this is a great radiator. I will update my review if I have any problems, but so far, it has met my expectations. ... show more

  • Great deal. Arrived next day. Brand new high quality!
My kids radiator went out. My husband said go get one from the local auto parts store. Well they didn't have any in stock. So I jumped on Amazon and ordered this one and had it the next day! And saved $70! Works perfectly. Brand new. No refurbished b.s.. Will definitely be chaecking with them for future auto part needs! ... show more

  • A no frills replacement radiator.
Replaced an old radiator in hopes of resolving an ongoing overheating issue in my 2006 PT Cruiser. The build and fit of this piece is well made all around. I had no issues replacing my previous radiator. The inner core on this unit looks to have copper or metal piping vs the pvc in my previous unit. I just installed it today and so far so good. Only time will tell. ... show more

  • Compatible but needs to be adjusted a little with washers
I have a 2006 PT cruiser (touring edition) and sits a little off but with a little rigging (I think washers were added) it works perfect! Thank you! 4/5 because you have to rig/adjust it to sit right

  • Good if you're in a pinch.
I bought this for my PT Cruiser, I was broke and it was the cheapest one I could fine. It lasted about 7 months before getting a HUGE crack in it and leaking antifreeze from an unknown/never located spot. Worht it if you can't afford anything else.

  • Pt cruiser radiator
These radiators are hard to replace. This type made the job easier. The one I changed had brackets that were bolted on. This kind was easier. The brackets are part of the radiator. Highly recommend. Good part . Fair price and easier to install. Thank you seller.
