  • 4.5 stars for Elsa and Aiden
Format: Kindle
The twists, the turns, the mystery... such a good book! Would’ve been 5 solid stars... but... it was close! We finally get the whole picture as to why Aiden felt the way he did towards Elsa when book 1 started. Book 3 starts where book two left off, which is when it’s revealed that Aiden is engaged to Silver. Because of that, Elsa closes herself off from him and decides that she can’t be with somebody that has lied to her and kept something so pivotal from her. Aiden knows that she is everything to him, so he’s not going to let her go without a fight. In the meantime, the biggest revelation is that Elsa’s dad is back; that alone was a mouth-dropping moment. She leaves to be with him and her two stepsiblings, kind of as a way of making up for lost time. Aidan is boiling and wants to just kidnap her, in his normal caveman possessive way LOL. When she returns back, she ignores him and he doesn’t know how to feel about that. Scratch that, he’s pissed off and is not going to let her ignore him. I loved that Elsa did not give in so easily, especially considering the many opportunities Aiden had to tell her what was going on and be forthcoming. In this book, we get a lot of flashback scenes, showing us how Elsa and Aiden met years before in such horrible conditions and circumstances. I loved seeing their childhood love blossoming and how dedicated they were to each other, how sweet and protective they were. Elsa starts getting some of her memories back, which is how we get to see the bigger picture of everything that was going on. Aiden and Elsa went through some pretty horrific things, things that leave scars- and not just physical ones. Why not five full stars? SPOILERS*********** Aidan never officially tells Elsa that he loves her?!? 😡 Really?? Three books in!😡 sure- it’s implied 🙄 but come on! He has her say it to him all the time!!! Yes, he tells her that she means everything to him, that she’s the world to him, that she is his, that they will always be together, that he will never get tired of her, etc. etc. but the actual words do not come out of his mouth. 😑.... couldn’t he have said it like one time? One teensy tiny time? 🙄🤦🏻♀️. The other thing that bugged me was the whole Agnus thing at the end. So, he locks them up for two days with no food, never checks in with them, and acts like that was OK? And Elsa and Aiden didn’t retaliate or do anything against him? 😡😑🙄🤦🏻♀️That’s why she got so bad! Maybe if it had been like a day, OK I get it, but two days?? And then for them to just move on from that like nothing... that bothered me a lot. ***********END SPOILERS. Overall, I loved the storyline, loved the connection that Aiden and Elsa had, loved all the twist and turns and all the revelations throughout the three books, loved the flashback scenes of their childhood; even though they were hard to swallow and difficult to read, it definitely added dimension to their connection and their relationship. Oh and the steam, as usual, 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵. Oh 😅 combustible!!!! I loved the epilogue 🥰🥰🥰🥰. I can’t wait to read the books that I haven’t read from this series. Especially, daddy Jonathan‘s duet!!! 😉😉😉. ... show more

  • Conclusion to My most favorite couple in the RES Universe
Format: Kindle
Twisted Kingdom by Rina Kent is a rollercoaster of a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The twists, the turns, and the mystery woven throughout the story make it an incredibly engaging read. While it falls just short of a perfect five-star rating, it is still a highly enjoyable book that will leave you wanting more. One of the highlights of Twisted Kingdom is the revelation of why Aiden had such strong feelings towards Elsa from the start of the series. As book three begins, we discover that Aiden is engaged to Silver, which causes Elsa to distance herself from him. She cannot be with someone who has lied to her and kept such an important secret. However, Aiden is determined to fight for her and bring her back into his life. Meanwhile, the return of Elsa's father adds another layer of complexity to the story, leading her to leave and reconnect with her step-siblings. Aiden, being the possessive and protective character that he is, is boiling with anger and contemplates kidnapping her. The tension between them is palpable when she finally returns and ignores him, leaving Aiden feeling both angry and confused. I appreciated that Elsa did not give in easily, considering the many chances Aiden had to be honest with her. The book includes flashback scenes that show their childhood love blossoming and the dedication and sweetness they shared. These scenes add depth to their connection and highlight the hardships they endured together. Elsa's gradual recollection of her memories also allows readers to see the bigger picture and understand the events that shaped their relationship. However, there are a couple of aspects that prevented me from giving Twisted Kingdom a full five-star rating. Firstly, Aiden never explicitly tells Elsa that he loves her, despite her saying it to him multiple times. While it is implied, it would have been satisfying to hear those three little words from him at least once. Additionally, the handling of the Agnus situation at the end left me disappointed. Locking them up for two days without food and then moving on from it without any consequences felt unrealistic and undermined the seriousness of the situation. Despite these minor flaws, the overall storyline of Twisted Kingdom is captivating. The connection between Aiden and Elsa is beautifully portrayed, and the twists and revelations throughout the three books are expertly executed. The flashback scenes of their childhood are both heartwarming and heartbreaking, adding depth to their relationship. And of course, the steamy moments between them are absolutely scorching. The epilogue ties everything together perfectly, leaving readers with a satisfying conclusion. In conclusion, Twisted Kingdom is a thrilling and passionate read that will keep you hooked until the very end. While it may not be without its flaws, it is still a highly enjoyable book that fans of the series will not want to miss. Rina Kent has crafted a story that is both intense and romantic, making it a must-read for fans of the genre. ... show more

  • Loved their story
Format: Kindle
This is the 3rd and final book of Aiden and Elsa's story. These 2 characters have come a long way since the first book Deviant King. I really like the finale of this book because you get so much perspective of the characters and everything that goes on. I did like that we did get a Jonathan and Ethan chapters. Still don't like Jonathan he has some serious issues. Elsa regains her memory Remembers everything that happened 10 years prior. Silver really made me mad On how she treated Elsa thought the first 3 bks, because it really was not warranted. It took Silver being put in a serious situation and Elsa stepping in and kind of protecting her for Silver turn around and be like OK maybe I shouldnt have been such b*tech to her. Out of the 4 horsemen I really like Ronan best. Thers jusy something about his character I'm very intrigued on learning more about him. Yes he is portrayed as the jokester of the group but I think there's more to him than that. Overall I have very much enjoyed the series so far and I cannot wait to continue and complete this universe. ... show more
