I was not anticipating much from this bed, especially buying it without knowing if the metal pieces would be flimsy. It is really a sturdy bed. It did take me almost 3 hours to put together but I wasn't in a hurry and I'm not a spring chicken. The tools that come with the bed are all you need to put it together. There are images and corresponding letters and numbers for you to match the screws to the pieces. As long as you follow it exactly, you'll put it together easily. I almost forgot to out the the strip of foam that you lay on a long piece before you lay the slats across on the main bed. Don't make that mistake as it will keep the metal from rubbing together. Also, make sure you order 6 inch mattresses like it states. After I put the 6 inch mattress on the trundle and slid it under the daybed, it fit perfectly. Anything thicker and it wouldn't have slid under. Another thing I love is that the trundle legs undo so that the beds are the same height. This was something I really wanted. I purchased a king sized memory foam piece and when the beds are together, you can make a king sized bed for guests, which I love. I did purchase this on prime day so I purchased it for around $225, but even at the regular price at the time of $284 it would have been totally worth it. Do note that when it arrives and you have to bring it into your house, it is HEAVY. I had to have my husband help me drag it to the guest room. This was great for my seldom used 2nd guest bedroom. Too bad, the trundle does not secure to the main bed when extended, and they slide apart when both beds are aligned together. I can zip tie them if need be but ...note to manufacturers .....

Product arrived damaged. There is rust where the paint chipped off so it’s been like this for a while. Missing part H and not enough of part D per their instructions. There is nothing to secure the cross bars to the frame. You can put a bolt in each one loosely. Really disappointing

The bed was pretty easy to assemble, took about 60 minutes. The metal parts have some minor rust discoloration coming through the paint which does not come off. But, its fairly minor and you don't really notice it unless you are assembling the bed or look for it. Overall, we like the frame.

    • A couple minor problems

Six inch mattress, as recommended for trundle , was a very tight fit and hinge supplied to secure trundle in up position, did not fit. Company did immediately send a replacement hinge, but replacement was also just a fraction off. Otherwise, seems like good product.
