I purchased this bunkey bed with the expectation that it would fit a full-size mattress, as stated. Unfortunately, the bed does not fit properly inside the frame of a standard full-size bed. The supporting frame rails are recessed within the bed's side rails, and while a full-size mattress fits without issue, this metal bunkey bed is simply too wide. I noticed several other reviews mentioning the same problem, so it seems to be a common issue with this product. Additionally, the strong chemical aroma that accompanied the bed was atrocious. The smell was overwhelming and made it difficult to even be in the same room for a while. Again, other reviews had similar complaints about this issue. Overall, I would recommend avoiding this product and looking elsewhere for a better option. The size discrepancy and the unpleasant odor are deal-breakers. Save yourself the hassle and find a different bunk bed.

Item seems well made but I have only had it for 4 days. The instructions need to be much clearer and parts labeled better. I saw a youtube video of the Zinus frame assembly and it is much better labeled with clearer assembly instructions. I purchased this item because another reviewer mentioned that this bunkie board fit an ikea frame. It did fit the frame but in the end I did not need it because the original wood slats were fine. It was the ikea steel center support beam that failed. I replaced the beam and decided to keep and install the bunkie board rather than repack and return this very heavy item.
