You need a good strong place to mount it. I'm sure it would not work in sheet rock or thin wood. Needs good lag bolts, I may have got my own.

This is a nice sturdy TV bracket with a variety of mounting holes to make hitting a stud way easier. The only issue I had with it was that it is nearly impossible to readjust the angle of the TV without removing it off of the bracket.
