    • Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX

This is our 4th pair because the sound and the comfort is perfect for the price. I owned two pairs of the previous version (TB Stealth 700 Gen2 non "MAX") and fell in love. I've been using Turtle Beach headsets since 2010. The warranty is a good peace of mind also. One of the beast features is the simultaneous Bluetooth function. This headset allows you to wirelessly connect to your PC / Console via USB dongle, while also connected to your phone / tablet via Blue Tooth without switching connections. So you can be listening to music or taking a call on your phone, and the audio from your console / PC can still function simultaneously. You might not think its a big deal, but it comes in handy, I don't think I could live without it, especially if you are paying over $100 for a good headset. You can watch a tutorial video on your phone when you get stuck on that boss fight, or cant figure out a tricky puzzle in an RPG, or browse social media while waiting in queue for your game to start etc. * Some other brand headsets have Bluetooth and wireless capabilities, but a lot of them DO NOT work simultaneously. If you want this functionality, do your research. * Another cool function is that they can work with Xbox or PS regardless of what it says on the package. I have a Xbox Series X and a Play Station 5, and the same headset works for both consoles. Just flip the switch on the dongle to PC. The foam around your ears is soft memory foam, they have good bass for music and gaming, though you can adjust the audio mixer via the phone app. Easy to use and it isn't all glitchy like other apps. I also really like how the microphone can be completely hidden, so they look like normal headphones in public. Also the mic mutes automatically when you flip it up, so you always know if you are muted or not easily. They come out of the box pretty tight, if you have a small head / young teen / child, they will stay in place. For my big head I always have to stretch the headband out a good amount, but that's fine because it has a metal headband inside so it eventually forms to your head. They do have a good weight to them, they don't have that light cheap plastic feeling. That could be a drawback for some people but I don't even realize they are on after a while. The mic quality is good nobody ever complains in game about a bad mic sound. It also has mic monitoring which means you can hear yourself talking if you wish, you can adjust the level or turn it off in the app. Unfortunately the older non "MAX" variation (Stealth 700 gen2) were prone to the plastic breaking after heavy use. I haven't had that issue with the new "MAX" version, but they are essentially the same headset, but now they just use a dongle, where before the Xbox version did not require a dongle. I had to superglue two different sets because they both broke after heavy use, they WOULD still work, but it is annoying having to glue them back together. I've fallen asleep over night with them on and have had sessions of 12 hours in a day, so your usage my be different. However, EVERY Turtle Beach product has a 1 year warranty, so if they break they will send you a brand new set, and you can keep the broken set until you cant bare it anymore. I still have my non "MAX" superglued set as backup just in case. I used both warranties on my broken headsets and everything went smooth, great customer service. I do hope they address this issue if they ever release a gen 3 version. With that being said, Now I am careful and mindful of how I put them on, I simply stretch the metal headband without touching the ear cup section to put them on my head. No issues, just don't grip and bend the plastic ear cup section, you might eventually put too much stress on the plastic that holds the ear cup housing that connects to the headband. That's where my old headsets broke. Even with those two broken headsets from the previous version, I still ONLY use the Stealth 700 gen 2 MAX now. The features, the price, the comfort, and the sound is what keeps me coming back. I did try the Microsoft wireless headset for Xbox after my second TB headset broke, the earmuffs were too small and the sound was terrible. I literally would not game until I got a new set of Turtle Beaches again. The sound is NIGHT AND DAY in comparison. The Microsoft headset sounded like the audio was coming through a soda can, they felt cheap and plastic, and definitely did not have simultaneous Blue Tooth capability. Also, you always get a Turtle Beach sticker in the box, that hasn't changed since I bought my first headset from them back in 2010. 👍 ... show more

    • Perfect headset

UPDATE: Going on 8 months now with this headset and it still works perfect for me. No cracks in plastic or any signs of breaking. As long as you take care of the headset you'll be fine. Its a shame this headset doesn't work for everyone because for me it's the perfect headset. I use them interchangeably between my Series X and PS5 daily and doing so is cake work. The dongle provided with this headset has a switch to select either Xbox or "USB" which you use on PS5 or PC. The battery life is stellar, the sound is great and gets plenty loud, it can connect to your console and phone at the same time, the flip to mute mic is a godsend, and the overall build quality is Sturdy. Not sure how people actually break this headset as I've used it for about 5 months now with no sign of breaking/cracking, but to be fair I take care of my stuff. The ONLY negatives I have experienced with his headset is every now and then I can hear crackling coming through but it lasts a few seconds and then it's gone and the clamping force is tight right out the box. I've stretched the headset out and it fits perfectly fine now though. Overall, this headset is the best bang for your buck in my opinion and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. ... show more

    • Update: One of the worst headsets I've owned...
Platform For Display: Multiplatform Edition: Stealth 700 MAX Color: Black
Compared to my last review where I was only somewhat bashing these things, let me tell you that in the last 3 months or so they've gotten EVEN WORSE! So everything about them is almost fine, charging is still good, headset still has a good feel and even look okay but the performance of these things? In kind words, is horrible. When I used the first edition Gen 2 700's they didn't have a dongle which was pretty nice since it allowed me an extra slot, this one uses a dongle on the otherhand, which is fine if it worked. Half the time the dongle doesn't want to connect to the headset so I'll have to restart the headset once or twice to get it to connect. It's constantly crackling and popping when it has no reason to and in a game where I need to listen it causes problems. Thos last couple things aren't even that big of a deal, it's the app that causes this thing to be a real pain. Firstly they refuse to fix the app, my mic monitoring is constantly getting turned on when I don't have it set to on. The mappable dial? Is useless when I press "Chat Volume" in the app and it's still trying to connect it to the mic monitoring WHICH IS OFF! The mappable button is useless as well when the wheel finally wants to work, it'll set it to my bluetooth audio on my phone which works when I'm listening to music but it isn't helpful when I'm trying to talk to my friends and my game volume is blasting alongside them and the regular volume knob controls it. The only good things about this headset is the sound quality and bass, nothing seems to be trying beat something over when it comes to that and everything is good with the sound. They feel great on my head and don't really cause problems with glasses. ... show more

    • Longevity decline from the 600’s to these
Platform For Display: Multiplatform Edition: Stealth 700 MAX Color: Black
I went 2 star for longevity issue and some annoying user interface issues. I had the 600’s and they lasted from 2018 to 2024. I replaced with these and they lasted 2 years 2 months. That is unacceptable to me to have a drop in quality that drastic. I also had multi issues with the Bluetooth connection there I would have to turn them on and off again just to get them to work. All in all when they were connected I liked them but for the hassles and longevity issues I would go with a different headset at the same price point. But ... show more

I recently purchased the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX headset, and overall, I was quite pleased with my purchase. The headset worked well and provided excellent sound quality, which made for an immersive gaming experience. Unfortunately, after a few weeks of use, the transmitter failed, leaving me unable to use the headset. However, I was extremely impressed with Turtle Beach's customer service, as they quickly replaced the transmitter and got me back up and running in no time. Aside from the transmitter issue, I have no complaints about this headset. It's comfortable to wear for extended periods, and the mic works well for online gaming communication. The battery life is also impressive, allowing for long gaming sessions without needing to recharge. Overall, I would recommend the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX headset to any gamer looking for high-quality sound and comfortable wear. While there was an issue with the transmitter, the excellent customer service from Turtle Beach made up for it. ... show more

    • Great headset out of the box, but quality deteriorates rapidly after 1 year due to normal use

Review Image by Mark Lauerman
When I first received the product brand new, it was pretty great. Very loud sound, good microphone, good outside noise cancelling, fairly comfortable for long gaming sessions, great battery life, and mostly good connectivity aside from occasionally not connecting at initial power on. It was pretty much everything I expected when I initially purchased the product. However, there is what I believe to be a design flaw where the upper part of the plastic ear cups will begin to crack due to the need to pull them apart when putting it on one’s head. Over time, just due to normal everyday use, both sides of my headphones developed large cracks that cause the headphones to no longer fit snug on the head. This area of the headphones needs to be improved and should probably be made of metal as opposed to plastic that will break in about a year's time. I’ve owned the product for not even 2 years and when I reached out to turtle beach directly they failed to provide any assistance due to the fact that I’ve owned the product for over 1 year. I've now resorted to attempting to superglue the cracks together myself in the hopes that it will hold, but as soon as it gives out these things will be worthless. After paying about $150, I've now been told by the manufacturer that I need to replace the product myself after their product failed to last for even 2 years. I will most likely be looking at other brands for my next purchase. ... show more

    • Not the best - not the worst
Platform For Display: Multiplatform Edition: Stealth 700 MAX Color: Black
Headset runs small. I don’t have a large head, and this thing is still really snug. Ears hurt after a few hours of wearing it. They advertise that the padding can be modified for fitting glasses and it cannot. The sound is also sub-par. Probably the only reason it doesn’t get 3 stars is because the footsteps in shooters are easy to detect. Bass is next to nothing. The sound doesn’t get loud enough for game volume in any capacity. As well, the connectivity of the headset is spotty. I’ve had major problems with it functioning properly and sometimes even connecting all together. Definitely better headsets out there. ... show more
