This is perfect for what I was looking for! It’s not a tinsel tree, but it is a narrow pencil design. It comes as 3 sections, plus a stand. It was easy to assemble, but did take some time to fluff. I’m expecting next year it won’t take as long. (Read on for specifics on how I do that.) A small branch did arrive already broken off and another broke as I fluffed it. There are hundreds, so I’m not too worried, but it means the wire attachments are fragile and need to be handled carefully. I’ll figure out next year if I want to wire them in again. These needles are entirely the ‘paper’ kind. If you’re looking for something of higher quality, I’d suggest Balsam Hill. There, you can get different kinds of actual tree species! But of course you pay a lot more. I was looking for something lightweight and small to store. It does not come with a storage bag, but I was able to pack it in a cheap 42” long plastic bag with handles sold for wrapping paper. (A square design, 10” x 10”, not those flat rectangular ones, and it unzips all the way around.) The cardboard box this came in was falling apart and awkward to carry. The longest section is slightly longer than 40”. As these trees do, the tippy top branch is a single strand that sticks straight up, counting as their last 6”. See pic. None of my real trees ever had more than 3-4” on that top branch and other branches always came up closer to it. But that’s how they design these. Bend it in half if you wish, but be aware the rest of the tree is more 7’ than 7 1/2’. I have a 32” skirt under it in the photo. The branches are sturdy enough to hold ornaments and lights. We already have a tree about a foot shorter than this, but it takes 2 huge bags to store, is heavy and much bigger around. It’s fine for here at home, but I was looking for something to take with us as we sometimes drive for a family vacation at our timeshare for Christmas and I wanted a tree that can travel. This fits the bill! I can’t get it to fluff as full as their photo. I’ll work on it more next year. Note the photo by the reviewer Ashton. This is how each section looks when you take it out of the box. The design is wire branches that hang in multiple circles around the trunk when fallen open. They hinge upwards and close for storing, aligning all the branches along the trunk. To set it up, assemble the stand first, and slip in the bottom section. Tighten the screws and be sure it is vertically straight. No leaning. Next, keep all the limbs upright along the trunk, pointing towards the ceiling. Sitting in a chair, get yourself comfortable and settle in for a good fluffing session. Now drop the bottommost ring of tree limbs. (Each section has 3-4 rings of limbs encircling the trunk, spaced about 6” apart. The bottom ring has about 12 limbs, and the top ring ends with 4-6 branches at the very top. Only the bottom and middle sections are hinged. The top section is like a tabletop design, with branches only, no limbs on metal hinges.) Take an entire limb and work from the innermost of the tree, closest to the trunk, outwards towards your lap. Lift up one branch at a time off the limb, carefully stroking the needles outwards from the “wood”. A tree naturally grows towards the light, so keep that vision in your mind, that these needles are looking for the sun. The branches should point slightly upwards, the needles about 45 degrees off the wire branch. Work your way outwards, one branch at a time. You’re basically unwrapping the tree. Check for bent wires and straighten them out. This shouldn’t require as much work the next time you set it up because you can never squish the needles as flat as they do in manufacturing. Once you get to the very end of the limb, continue on in a circle around the tree until that ring is completed. (Or as I did, stay seated and twirl the tree around!) Take a sip and now move on to the next ring, circle, of limbs. Drop them all down and work each one individually until you finish that circle and again move on up. When the bottom section is completely done, now lift and drop the middle section into the trunk. Make sure it’s not leaning! And start all over again. The top section is smallest and easiest. As I said, it has no hinges. I had to stand up halfway through doing the middle section, but at least I saved my back and it goes a lot faster at the top! The entire process took about an hour, but it’s a lot easier to do working from the bottom up and before it’s all assembled. This tree is lightweight and not difficult to move, just make sure you have at least one hand grabbing the bottommost section of trunk. Taking it down, I carefully stoked the limbs one by one, closing the branches around each limb. Then hung the entire tree section upside down and made sure all the limbs hung from the inside and not twisted up with any of the outer limbs overlaying them. Then I took the entire section and laid it on the floor, pressing with my hands all around and turning it, pressing down, to flatten it as much as possible (think of forming dough into a long roll). When I stored it, I made sure to put the widest part of a section laid next to the narrow part of the other section. I hope this helps. Have fun!

Purchased this for my mother as she wanted a tree to decorate year round and she had a small area to put it. Overall this was a quick easy setup and seems to be holding up well. She's been decorating for different holidays since Christmas. If you need a tree for a tight space this is the one for you.

When I opened the box, I thought there were 3 fuzzy baseball bats in there. The tree fluffed up nicely and fits my needs perfectly. One problem is that the top of the middle section has a nice square hole but, the bottom of the top section is a skinny rod making a very tippy top. Is there something missing?

The tree itself is rather sparse. I waited awhile for it to get here and when it got here I quickly put it together. I am super happy I did not pay full price. Some parts of the tree fell apart. Its called a tinsel tree and that is what it is. I bought it to replace my 7 ft pencil tree. I am not sure I will do this now and proably bring this little tree to my office.
