Tried it first on the screened porch and it pits out a lot of heat. The room was just too big and open air. We installed it in the dog house last night. Some errors on my part learning to use it so I accidentally turned it off. Artic blast tonight so that will be the real test. Very durable. Like the cord protector. Front grill does get hot but the yellow part stays cool to touch. Super easy setting up the app. So far I really think it was a great purchase. ... show more

I bought this heater earlier this year, intentions were to use for a goat house. When i received it, even though it said new on the site, it was obvious the one I got was not. It was dirty, had scratches and there were even instructions in the box for an entirely different item that had nothing to do with the heater. I contacted Amazon and this was righted. We put the heater up and for the most part it worked for what we needed it for. We only used it for a few weeks until the weather got warmer. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, we took it out of the goat house and put it in an actual dog box, a very large one. We put it at the very top at the highest point and moved all wires out of the way. Within 2 days it had stopped working and we discovered that our very small puppies that couldn't even reach the top of the box, somehow managed to chew through this chew proof heater. I notified the company of this and they just stated that it should always be placed where it can't be reached. I'm sorry but dog boxes are only so big and ours is very large. I couldn't possibly do it any differently and I don't think anyone else could have either. This item is not chew proof and should not be used in a dog box if the dog is tall enough to reach it or in some way could possibly get high enough to reach it. I use this in my 140 sq ft chicken house (not a coop, but large walk-in shed.) I'm not trying to keep it warm in there, just above freezing, so one is enough even for this larger than a doghouse space. The only thing I don't like is the temperature range (70° - 115°), who wants to heat any space to 115°??? The temperature of the air coming out is the same regardless of the setting so I have to assume this is a thermostat setting. It would be nice if I could just set it to 40° and leave it. Even for a dog, 70 is too warm. It has a timer, but how do you know how long to set it for? A thermostat with a reasonable range would be better. I love that I can check the temperature in there and turn it on and off from anywhere through my phone. The only other complaint is that it says to clean the filter periodically, but there's no obvious way to get to it. I will probably just use compressed air to clean it. ... show more

First, I'll start with the fact that I live in Interior Alaska. This worked great for our little 4x6 chicken coop, as long as it stayed warm enough inside. I loved being able to monitor the temperature in the coop. It only goes down to 70 F. I wish it would let me set it for a lower temperature. But it kept our little coop warm enough. The challenge happened when we lost power for an extended period. The heater would not turn back on because the ambient temperature was too cold. It was -34 F outside. This presented a problem. I needed the heater to warm up the coop so I could get my heater to turn on. This heater was great. I just used canned air to clean it out monthly. Now it is useless to me. With a feature like that, I don't intend to use it anymore. With that issue, and not being able to set a lower temperature, I can only give it 3 stars. ... show more

We have this in the 10 X 10 shed we use for a doghouse in the pen that our dogs are in during the day. We don't take them outside until the temp is above freezing but its still pretty cold out. We run this heater 12 hours on cold days and the dogs stay nice and warm, plus it keeps their water from freezing overnight! We've never had an issue with them chewing the cord and we have it mounted about 2 ft high. ... show more

This heater is advertised as 800W capable of heating 150 cubit feet of space. My dog house is nowhere near that big, but its a decent size and this heater keeps it nice and toasty. I love that it is wireless so that I can monitor the heat and adjust as necessary without having to go outside. Make sure to install it high up tho, the unit gets very hot, dont want to burn your pets or something on the floor! ... show more
